Since there is so much negativity around and criticism of our great manager, SAF, and this criticism has gone to such lengths that loyal fans are calling for his head. So, to post a positive view, I just took a second to reflect on our manager, and then compare him to who many believe is the best manager in the Premiership and is the self-proclaimed 'special one', Jose Moaninghino.
In 20 years as manager, SAF has won countless League and Cup titles plus the Champions League, but United fans still remember him as the man who made the few bad signings of Kleberson, Djemba Djemba, Veron (who was actually a great player and was worth the money if we were in Spain or Italy), Taibi, Miller, Barthez and others I can't remember right now, and to be honest don't really want to remember, but these are about 12-13 bad signings in 20 years as manager. So, I'd just like to ask for a bit more support and confidence in our manager in the transfer market even is he hasn't signed anyone yet. I believe, and really hope, he has players lined up for next season because I accept we need to strengthen our midfield and attack (now Van Nistlerooy has left the club) if we are to challenge Chelsea. we have to remember the decline of our club for 2-3 years was inevitable because we were undergoing a transitional period between 2004-2006 because the golden boys of the 90s were all ageing at the same rate and we desperately needed replacements as they were all approaching 30. If we sign Carrick and Mascherano/Cambiasso + a young striker from Zlatan, Torres or Tevez, our team will have a very, very young average age. Its obvious that Fergie wants to rebuild another great young side before he retires like he did at the start of the 90s. If we do sign these players, only Neville will be a starter with an age over 30 and after him Ferdinand and Heinze will be the next oldest at the age of 28 and 27 respectively (considering Park and Richardson rotate with Giggs on the left, and Carrick and Mascherano keep Scholes out of the middle). Remember guy, we still have 3 whole weeks and I'm pretty confident we will make 2 signings this week now Ruud has left. I repeat the fact that I am very happy Ruud has been sold, I accept he was a great servant, but he is well past his sell by date and 12-13 million is great for a 30 year old who has lost most his pace and upper-body strength.
Now I have posted this part about Chelsea a long time ago, but I thought i might remind some United fans of the great Special One's signings and prove how lucky we are to have Fergie.
Drogba - 24 million - I've seen donkeys who play better football, Worth about 5 million
SWP - 20 million - Was decent at City, now will struggle to dribble past a lamp post, Worth 8-10 million - Loaned off
Tiago - 8 million i think - Such a flop he's already been sold, Worth 2-4 million
Essien - 24 million - Would be a good 10 million signing, not 24 fuckin million. Happy we didn't get him.
Maniche - Loan - Who? (was good in a world cup like 20 years ago?) - would struggle to keep a first team spot at Wolves
Carvalho - 20 million? - Not half the player Wes is - Worth 5-6 million tops
Ferreira - 14 million - Heinze for 7 and u get this twat for 14? FLOP - Worth 5 million (Heinze's worth 15 million minimum)
Del Horno - 7 million i think - So good that his most notable contribution was getting sent off against Barcelona, already been sold in the summer - Worth 3 million tops
The Whore Ballack - 130 grand a week after tax which means he is really on about 180 grand a week - Top midfielder but is a pure mercenary and won't give a toss about how the club perform - Not worth 180 grand a week
Kalou - 3.5 million - Who? Only played a handful of games. Unproven so I can't put a value on him.
Obi Mikel - 16 million - Never worth 16 million, he played for Lyn for god sake, he's never tested himself against good opposition - worth 4-5 million tops.
Shevchenko-35 million - 35 million for a 30 year old? Don't think so. I'm looking forward to seeing how he performs next year - If Ruud is worth 12-13 million, he is worth 18 tops.
So the Special One has not actually made ONE good signing.... not one. More support for SAF please
