Van der Sar suffers broken nose
Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar could face a spell on the sidelines after breaking his nose in Sunday's 4-0 victory over Tottenham.
The 36-year-old Dutch keeper was forced off after a late clash with Spurs striker Robbie Keane.
United's assistant boss Carlos Queiroz said: "Edwin needs a scan and we will have to wait and see what kind of fracture he has."
Defender John O'Shea replaced Van Der Sar in goal in the closing minutes.
"There was a lot of blood coming out so Edwin had to come off," United boss Sir Alex Ferguson added.
"We have got a new nickname for John now - 'The Cat'."
United, who had already secured the points by the time Van der Sar was injured, were forced to turn to O'Shea as they had used all three of their substitutes.
The Republic of Ireland defender was called into action before the end when he came out to deny Keane on the edge of the area.

Does anyone know whats the situation with a broken nose and playing again? If, as has been reported in a dutch paper that VDS has concussion then thats a mandatory 3 weeks, right? If it was any longer would we be allowed to recall Foster from Watford? Or is Tomaz going to take over? We have a really key month coming up. Anyone know anything on this front?

This was brutal.. and it took the the coverage three camera angles to even show it properly. wtf. Mandatory 3 weeks.. yeh, what do we actually do at this point?
O'Shea did seem to have a pretty decent time in there though. Rooney's face after his block was priceless.

I think the shocked look on my face when O'Shea put the shirt and gloves on would have been even better...

Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo faces time on the sidelines after kicking some water bottles in a huff.
The winger, 22, was angry at being subbed after 67 minutes of United's 1-0 win over Lille in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
He stormed over to the dugout, refused the offer of a tracksuit top and then kicked a pile of water bottles with his right foot.
That is understood to have bruised his foot and he needed an ice pack on it while he sulked on the bench.
Ronaldo was given a precautionary cast to wear on the flight home.
He still had it on as he came through Manchester airport - and United boss Alex Ferguson will find out this lunchtime if the Portuguese star can play at the weekend against Fulham.

Yeah he said in his post match interview they wouldn't know how serious is was untill tomorrow.. I'm expecting him to miss a match or two at the most, he didn't look too bad though so doubt it it will more than that.

It's sweet of you to try and appease me but since I saw Rooney play on for a quarter of an hour with a broken foot in 2004 I believe he would walk off the pitch with a torn sideband. His knee took a twist after the kick though not too badly. So i really hope your right Sil (may I call you Sil )

Rooney's got a lot of heart so you can't keep him from playing for too long.
