We have been rubbish. They're fighting for it, and we don't give a fcuk. If we go out, we fcuking deserve to, this is fcuking rubbish, Sir Alex has no cover on the bench, just kids, and our midfield's been horrible.

Lol, to be honest it's one less cup to worry about. We only went on to win it last year because the team fucked up in every other comp around Xmas. Does show a worry lack of depth though after the first XI

Well, it looks like we're crashing out of the Carling Cup, the reigning Champions out at the second hurdle.
I always had an inkling that we'd lose today, even after Fergie said Ronaldo and Rooney were in the eleven.
I'm disappointed at that, I thought we could win this tournament this year. It'd have been nice to regardless of how we finish in the Premiership. Do I think our team is bad because of this? No!
These things happen in football, we'll lose to a team in the lower leagues again as will many other clubs. It's what happens in cup competitions. Freddy Eastwood's goal was amazing, their keeper played out of this world.
And, that's it full time.
Edit: I don't agree with saying that it's one less cup, we want to win every trophy we participate in. This was one of them.
May I say well done to the Southend players, manager, staff and fans. Their boys done them proud.

How hard is it for Fergie to understand to play the best team possible, and then when your're winning 2 or 3 nil bring on the reserve players, or players that have been injured.

We should have won with the team we fielded, they didn't lack experience, however they went out there and they didn't want to win.
We were fucking horrible, the manager messed up on the day with his lineup and the players chosen were under estimating a team that wanted this badly, wasting chances and treating it as a pre season kickabout. Worthless cup or not, no excuse not to give their all on the day. Pathetic performance. And did Fletcher actually ever go out on the field? nice to see he stops caring when it's not Liverpool.

I remember crashing out in the league cup before, usually in seasons where we were winning doubles.
Positively thinking at least we can have focus on more important matters such as doing ok in the CL and winning the Prem.

Best thing to be said is i don't think we can play any worse than we did today. Only Ronaldo came out of that with any degree of respect. Fuckin appalling from everybody else. Fergie is going to have to face some home truths from the recent games against Crewe, Copenhagen and of today- we have a starting eleven and we have a reserve team, and nothing in between. Thank fuck we don't have to watch any more of these carling cup performances.  |
