Not to make excuses or anything, but i am happy we are out of the Carling Cup... I'm not. It's one thing to lose despite playing well and another to lose by putting out a poor performance. Southend did what they needed to do and got the result, however we put in a piss poor performance so I can't say I'm happy about that. Because we're lacking in depth we need every player on the squad to give 110% regardless of who they're playing. This is going to be a busy month with some stiff opposition so we're going to need to rest some of our key players and if the squad players don't step it up we're going to have problems.

And it was a shabby way for the holders to go out of the competition Exactly, you'd think they were going to play like they were actually defending something.

3 in the wall for the free kick - left the goal open richardson (pro footballer? couldn't beat the first man with how many corners??), o'shea should never get a UTD shirt again...disgrace (sitting on the fence with fletcher, still) i'm still fuming at the attitude of some players... i thought jones done well...always looking for the ball and kept it moving...better than the more 'established' (yeah right) players at the club...too much mediocrity at the club still...i pray we don't get a glut of injuries...because we will be found out big time...

Firstly b4 I critisise our players I'll say well done Southend. Thought Van Der Sar would have got to the free kick to be honest. Heinze was terrible last night but I'll put that down to coming back from injury. Pan Head was as poor, just doesn't look comfortable. Sheasy was terrible, needs dropping for a few games, stick him in the Stiffs for a bit. Smiths touch wasn't there again I'll put that down to injury, unlucky to be called for offside when he was clean through. Rooney faded but with a poor performance from the midfield forwards are always up against it. Richardson, will he ever step up and show us what he can do on a consistant basis? Fletcher and Jones were made to look quite ordinary. So full credit to Southend, we started at a slow pace and never really raised it. van der sar did not play mate.

Hahaha! Tbh i dont care about League Cup/FA/Champions League. I said to my mates at the start of the season, fuck the cups, the league is where we need to be at... we haven't won it for a few years and its about time we did... Btw you might wanna make a note of how many changes will be made to that side, that will play against Blackburn, i think i counted about 9 chances from the team that beat Portsmouth... i asked the same question some of you asked the other night (i aint been here so im giving my reaction now ), all it takes, is to field a strong side to go to Southend, get a result and a Quarter-final place... But as said above, Premier League should be what we are aiming for, and a good C/L finish at the most...
