Barca cant win their group though so if we won ours we might get drawn against them. If we don't we might get Chelsea or Lyon.

this should be an interesting game !! don't wanna see lack of performace, due to the fact that we're focusing on the league !! that's nonsense. hope the lads understand that, 'cause winning the games 'n great performace, is what it's all about.

After last season, i dont think there's any way this team will let themselves get knocked out at this stage again. Benfica have got it all to play for, so are going to come at us... but theyre not having a great year domestically so at home I can see anything other than a United win. I hope its a convincing one too.

I just want to see our strongest 11, not a weakened side. Give them a battering, then rest players if need be.

Its has to be the XI (we all know which ) A very important game for us, a day to forget about the league and focus on qualifying at all costs...not to mention... REVENGE!

We know X, but what about the one? Evra and Heinzé's battle is really interesting at the moment as when you think one will start the next game they're on the bench and the other starts.

Great story about Benfica, and in particular, games during the week in particular. Im currently at Queens University in Belfast, and im convinced that when im in Belfast, we lose!! It all started last year, everyone remembers the terrible CL campaign last year. Lille, Villareal, Benfica, all got results when i was in Belfast! It was similar in the league. This season, it was Copenhagen and then Celtic (surrounded by many many Celtic fans i add!), and Southend of course! So, to try and break the curse, im goin home on Wednesday! Headin 2 Derry on Wednesday then back 4 uni on Thursday mornin! Is this love, i think so!!

After last season I'm pretty nervous about this game, I know if play anywhere near our potential we'll at least get the draw we need but just the thought of going out at the group stages for 2 years running is horrible, plus I want to see how this current team we have would fair against some of the big european teams.

A little nerve racking isn't it? Just the possibility of losing gets the goosebumps going. All we can ask for is a full strenght squad with Giggsy finding his form and a strong performance by the entire team. We need to win and show that we're a strong side outside of our league as well.

The team id like to play is: Van der Sar
Rio Vidic Neville------------------Evra
Scholes Carrick Ronaldo-------------------Giggs
Rooney ----------------Saha So basically just the same as in the first post, but with Evra and not Heinzé. Im going for a 4-2 scoreline, should be good

Statement needs to be made by the team. First to SAF to assure him that they are the players he needs them to be and that he should not go looking for a replacement come January. Second to the rest of Europe that any route to Athens has to go through the RoM.
I agree with the 4-0....Ole' gets one in the 88th minute to mark his return.
What's more? The Hoops go down 1-0 to an inspired Copenhagen side who want to finish strong.

FC Copenhagen have done well at home so they may be inspired enough to pull a win against Celtic though I'm sure Strachan's going to play a full strength squad.

Would you all prefer we topped the group or came second, baring in mind the teams we could face in the last 16?
