Hopefully from 30minutes onwards Fergie learnt that on the pitch, on the night the 4-3-3 just doesn't work for us. It was next to an instant transformation, the team are so much more comfortable with the usual 442. We need to play our best football no matter who we are playing.

What a turnaround.
Can we all just start thinking "4-4-2" about 30 minutes before kickoff on matchdays? I think it just might work!.

Great win. Giggsy's goal reminded me of Keano vs Juve, sent flashbacks. As we win our group, we'll face the runners up from other groups. So, who do you fancy? Barcelona? Inter Milan? PSV? Roma? Real Madrid? Porto? Lille? Obviously, I'd prefer Lille, but wouldn't it be ironic if we get Real Madrid and van Nistelrooy?

Ironic that the Portuguese handle Ronaldo worse than most premiership teams and all others we've encountered this season, he really took the piss tonight. ;D Rooney deserved a goal at least for what he did tonight, Vidic was terrific as well. Don't know what Fergie was playing at to begin with Giggs upfront Ronaldo on the left and Rooney on the right. Now to beat City on Saturday, easy I would love to draw Barca next, more than anyone.

It was a great win today and I'm so happy that Giggsy scored, after all he is my favorite player. Great turnaround I was a bit nervous after the Benfica goal but I guess I shouldn't have lost any faith in the Reds.

2nd best game we've played in the champions league. in ma opinion, the 1st incredible best game in the history of the champions league was that one against real madrid. the 4-3 game !! but tonight !! great great great performance. i'd give vidic man of the match. he really had a great game, scorin' the goal 'n in defence.

What a great performance! We completely dominated Benfica and if it wasn't for leaving Nelson wide open they didn't do much to create chances for themselves as the defense was all over them. If this is how we're going to play the rest of the CL campaign we're going to do well. #yahoo#

Don't know what Fergie was playing at to begin with Giggs upfront Ronaldo on the left and Rooney on the right. I know! But what ever Fergie's tactics were for that..they didn't work! We were alright once Rooney got back into his normal position anyway. We started off slow, very quiet, and we were pretty much asking for that first goal that Benfica scored, Good goal too i must say. Straight after that though, the tempo was raised and we started getting more into it and creating more chances, BUT we should have started off like that, they cant just decide to play well when we concede! But a great final score in the end, just typical of United to do things the hard way! But its great to see that all five British clubs are though! With the four English teams getting to the next stage, it sends out a message to the rest of Europe! Also, we got our revenge! ;D

Certainly the best game i have seen all year. (in terms of united outplaying their opponents)
Also, Go København! They played the kilts off of Celtic~!

As already mentioned numerous times the tactics we started with were frustrating and pointless, Fergie basically showed us that he thinks that too because as soon as we needed a goal we reverted back to 442 and we pissed all over them so it begs the question why? why does he insist on fiddling with the tactics when we're so effective at playing 442, let the opposition worry about us, especially at home.
Once we went to 442 though we played a lot better and dominated the rest of the game, Vida couldn't have scored at a better time and then Giggs and Saha rounded off a hattrick of headers, the next round draw is going to be really interesting.

i think the 4-5-1 is quirez's idea and fergie should now know after celtic and the start of tonights match not to use it and im sure he wont.feels weird being in the laast 16 now after last year, weird but in a good way ;D
