really proud of our two old vikings today. 33 and 35 years and still dictating the outcome of a game. ole the perfect super sub as usual. and larsson, he looks like he was born in a united jersey, he fit in so well. great footwork and vision by him throughout the match and the way he took his goal was wonderful too. just unleashed it without hesitation. i think rooney could benefit from a rest. look how much good a rest did thierry henry. i'm looking forward to seeing larsson link up with scholes. and with giggs back on the wing...they could really do some major damage.

before sleeping last night...i was thinking about something..everytime we get a new striker (im sure there are exceptions to this )... he scored on his HOME debut.... Ruud got 3 vs fulham, Saha scored vs So'ton, Rooney 3 vs fenerbache, Yorke 2 vs charlton, Ole vs blackburn, i know that cole missed a dozen on his home debut ( think it was vs blackburn 1-0 thx to the king..), and the king didn't score on his debut.... So today im very confident Henke's gonna score ! ... so i was right about henke scoring !!!( besides the ruud mistake , its 2 not 3 ) ...

Good second half after a poor first. Park was the only one really up for it. They say you are what you eat and maybe it's true because he was like a wippit up and down the flanks.
What can you say about Larsson, he looks like he was born to play for Utd. Why didn't he come here years ago? Great finish and he could have scored more. Fergie has to keep him till the end of the season. He truly is the King of Kings.
Well done Ole words fail me, how can still come back and keep winning games for us!

I'm delighted that Larsson had a great debut because there were already some naysayers doubting he was worth the money. It will still remain to be seen how well he'll during the rest of his stay, but it's a great start. Ole Ole Ole....always comes through in the end and keeps showing why he deserves to be out on the pitch.

I am just pleased to get though this time round. The last two seasons our games against weaker opposition in the 3rd round went to replays. I am really impressed by Larssons fitness for someone that hasn't played in 5 months. His goal was well taken and a typical goalscorers goal.

Phieeeew ! im extremely elated that the new guy scored on his debut . Larsson was amazing and for a 35 year old ... truly a very good buisness deal by sir alex .. he was sharp and hadn't rooney missed a couple he would have been credited by some spectacular assists ! Im glad that solskjaer scored too its quite ironic how the goal went it but as they say " doesnt matter how it goes but that It goes in " ( or something like that ) ... so congrats to all .. and hope to see that viking score more !!

I'm just so relieved that we won. Not a convincing performance from the guys today, although parts of the first half we looked better. Rooney had another off game (I know he assisted the goals, but besides from that he was wasteful on the ball), he should have let Sir Alex rest him. Or more so, Sir Alex should have MADE him rest. Larsson looked good though, based on the first performance he should prove good backup for us till we get someone more permanent.
And Alan Shearer was fucking dearer.... so don't you take my Solskjaer away!

I don't think Wayne will truly rest until he's actually dropped so it gets through to him. There is a limit where it stops being luck thats keeping him out and starts being him, i think he reached that today. Tactically i think Fergie mucked it up half way through the 2nd half, he put Ronaldo upfront, where he wasn't involved, he's best running at people out wide, firing crosses in. Having 3 upfront doesn't suit United, it let Villa into the game more in midfield as well. Probably our luckiest moment of the season which brought us through in the end, makes a change.

We deserved the win on the overall performance, but it could have been much different. first half we were pretty decent and some very good link up play between rooney and larsson but no end product (albeit, we came close). second half was more of the same but larsson clicked into gear. Our passing was a bit sloppy in the second half and for all I admire Wes, he looked out of sync today, maybe because he hasn't played for a while, but squad players need to take their chances when they come, he didn't . Kuszack made some good saves, even if the shots were from offside. Park looked back to his usual energetic self, maybe passes were a bit sloppy but no complaints. We should definatly loan Larsson until the end of the season at least, he wants to wind down his career so probably won't want a transfer, but if we have him until the end of the season he will provide the team with great cover and also teach the younger lads the tricks of the trade whilst here.
