Great shame Smith still isn't fit, i'd bet he would've been the sub brought on instead of Saha, giving it his all, all over the pitch, starting to get annoying with this never ending 'high intensity training programme..

Spot on suffix! I want to see him in action. Anyway, I think losing to Arsenal was a good thing for us. Maybe we will meet them in one of the competitions and beat them which will compensate for our loss against them in the league. We will get our own back.

Maybe we will meet them in one of the competitions and beat them which will compensate for our loss against them in the league. We will get our own back. I don't know whether it was good for us in terms of a lesson learned because it's been a persistent issue with this team. I'm not one of those people who think we have some god given right to win, but what I do want to see is the players going out there and giving it their all. What got to me about the Arsenal match was that we didn't take it to them after the first goal and resorted to just sit around and defend the lead which drives me bonkers. To constantly be under seige is a good way to let in a goal and in this case we let in two. We still have two tough away matches against Liverpool and Chelsea, so hopefully we'll be out there playing free flowing football and certainly no more of that 4-5-1 nonsense...

Man Utd's level of fitness is in the spotlight after Mathieu Flamini revealed that Arsene Wenger told his Arsenal players at half-time on Sunday that their opponents would "give up physically." According to Flamini, "He said: 'They are not the same anymore after 70 minutes.'" All of Man Utd's Prem defeats have witnessed late goals.

Load of bollocks?! (I think so!)
Aussiegraham
Well we did just sit back and start to defend rather than pushing Arsenal back hard...

To be fair, if he did say that, I very much doubt it he was the only one to think it.

To be fair, if he did say that, I very much doubt it he was the only one to think it. but it might also be that the view of a French gets somewhat blurred after 70 minutes of video analyzing because of the red wine he keeps pumping into his system constantly. In the busy December period we kept killing of Teams in the second half and in injury time (villa in the cup) so I don't see a problem bar the tactics and subs in the arsenal game!

United didnt deserve to lose, but credit to the arse for takin the three points...
the good thing is we can lose to arsenal and still extend our lead on chelsea (on GD). so we learn a valuable lesson that united cant sit back again, and progress further on the table. good!
some better counter attacking and intent after we scored would have been nice, but thats the lesson we learnt that we must continue playing in the bug games. United like makin things as hard as possible, but we just cannot si back and try to play patient football. fergies teams cant, and now we realise that and i doubt we will. a vital lesson learnt for the team, and were top of the league!

Did anyone who watched think: 'This is just like Chelsea at OT after we scored'
