Today the lads looked very tired! I hope we have enough firepower against Roma. To say the truth i wouldn't mind us out of the CL because i think the premiership is main priority and we should stop Chelsea winning it for a third time. Anyone notice how Pompey closed us down as soon as possible? It really interrupted our tactics and the flow of the game. I'm sorry to say this but Heinze really has to improve in his passing and crossing. Thats why i prefer Evra. And i was kind od disappointed with O'shea. We are really missing Gary Neville.

I had to watch the game in a pub full of single brain celled chav supporters. We just have to put this result to bed and move on. I think credit should be given to Pompey for continuously hustling our key players and not allowing our usual game to flow; Primus also made two excellent tackles on Rooney. I think it is very easy to criticise after a result like this; but I thought that most of the team looked jaded. Certainly Richardson was appalling and O'Shea not comfortable as a right back. However, Fletcher and Carrick did try to unlock the Pompey defence. These two will be key against Roma. VDS made a blunder for their first goal, but let's not forget he made two very good saves in either half. We are also missing Vidic and Saha. I do fear that our season is going to implode in the next few weeks, but we must keep the faith.

Squeaky bum time is well amongst us now isn't it?
I just had a feeling we'd slip up here and we have, we need to show we're champions now by bouncing back in our next league games against Sheff Utd and Boro, both at home, although they won't be easy.
We deserved to win the game though, Rio Ferdinand was my man of the match because he was great all night and put in a proper captain's performance.
Van Der Sar on the other hand has looked shaky at times, some very top notch saves yesterday but he's done it twice now in spilling/punching the ball out in front of him (Roma & Pompey) and then went AWOL for the own goal but then we saw some splendid saves from the man so I don't know what it is.
Rooney's goal should have stood at the beginning of the 2nd half and if that stands we win the game imo, because we just dominated it and they would've cracked.
Any how, we need to maintain a winning streak until we play Chelsea - we do that, we win the league because even if we lose at Chelsea our goal difference will carry us through with a win on the final day of the season.
It's still on lads, don't start getting all down hearted. It's a minor slip up!

Exactly it truly well is "Squeaky Bum Time", and I have confidence in Fergie & Co. to get what needs to be done and dusted with done and dusted with, but still that lingering fear of an implosion to our season stays, and as the final line in Alexandre Dumas' The Count of Monte Cristo states all we can do is : Wait and Hope
