Yeah, thats the problem with Richardson it's not that he keeps turning in shitty performance after shitty performance, its that he gives shitty performance after shitty performance doesn't seem to give a fucck what happens, and then drives home in his bentley....

Adam i think Park is injured. We look very thin and to say the truth we won't have anyone to come on from the bench to change the game around if necessary. If we win we will win but if we lose i think we will lose badly.

If i'm honest and say the truth i predict a Roma victory tonight. The belief is there but i don't think it will be enough to carry us through.

Van der Sar
O'Shea --- Ferdinand --- Brown --- Heinze
Fletcher --- Carrick --- Giggs --- Ronaldo
Solskjaer --- Rooney That would be my preferred XI tonight. Switch Ronaldo over to the left, put Fletcher on the right, and move Giggs into the middle alongside Carrick.

Adam's 11 is spot on for me! That would be my best 11 also. Think we might see Heinze at left back though Not sure... Scholes' absense will be a massive test but the one good thing to come out of last season was Giggs' performance in centre of midfield. When he's on form his runs and vision down the middle can unlock the tight Italian deffense. VDS needs to shake of the last couple of games and get back to his best, and Wes Brown needs to show his form at the start of this season. Sir Alex Ferguson press conference Wayne Rooney press conference

O'Shea - Brown - Ferdinand - Evra
Ronaldo - Carrick - Giggs - Park
Rooney - Solskjaer Do you think we'd throw Evra back in after a while out though and what about Park? is he fit because I thought he was meant to be back for Pompy If we had a few more players available I'd feel pretty confident about this but as it is we've got important players missing throughout the team and it's going to make it very difficult. We need to clinical and take any chances that come our way, unlike saturday. It's going to be another nervy night but I'd love to put this lot out, even if it's just to stop any other fans having to travel to Rome

Let's hope VDS is up for it today. I like the attacking option Evra brings but it's whether he'll be 100%, hope Park is fit because we need him...the thought of Richardson makes me shiver.

Yeah Richardson shouldn't be allowed to play against Roma. If Park isn't 100% then it should be Flecther in the Middle with Giggs going wide.
Must admit I do love it when Ole, Giggs, Rooney and Ronaldo play in the same team, you never know where they'll end up by the second half.

Okay so the short ride from Bury to Old Trafford is going to happen in about twenty minutes and I cannot remember being this up for a game in a long while. I just wanted to wish everyone going tonight and those with us in spirit a truly United experience and with a bit of luck and a few goals we'll send those Ities back with their tails between their legs...Come on...COME ON!

Not too sure about Ole starting, although he assisted the goal in Rome, he wasn't involved aside from that, we could be better off with Smith chasing around up top as their centre backs are extremely prone to mistakes. Although being an Italian team, they will waste time and know how to wind people up, starting Smith with his temperament... maybe not such a good idea.
Their centre back's got an unbelievable amount of free-kicks against Rooney when competing for simple headers, Van Der Sar even started kicking the ball out and giving it to Roma up the pitch so we could move up. If Smith starts up top he back's in to people and plays the Italians at their own game, better than Solskjaer.
I'd start Heinze with Evra's lack of game time recently and Roma's width. If Fletcher and O'Shea start on the same side of the pitch we'll probably lose rather than win as it's far too easy to shut down Ronaldo if the other side of midfield is so weak. Wouldn't suprise me to see Rooney on left mid, Giggs up top with Solskjaer, Fletcher in the centre with Carrick and Ronaldo drifting.
We could've really done with Rossi tonight.
