Hopefully vidic and ferdinand will not play. I dont want them to not be able to finish the prem. 2-2 i think with Rooney and Smith scoring (or maybe Stam, another former united star, will score an own goal) Stam's at Ajax now Common a good draw would do !!! fucking hell i've got 3 hours to kill !!

Bad news. Frank De Bleeckere was our referee in the Benfica game and he is the ref tonight. Guess who he booked in that game.
Scholes and Heinze.

GOT SOME VERY GOOD NEWS! READ THIS! SAF I LOVE YOU!
Sir Alex Ferguson is adamant United will stay true to their attacking instincts in Wednesday night’s Champions League crunch in Milan.
Wayne Rooney’s late semi-final, first leg winner gives the Reds a 3-2 lead to take to the San Siro, but the Boss concedes that sitting on that lead would be a dicey strategy.
“If you’re realistic then you know that AC Milan, in their own ground, will be huge favourites to score,” he said. “We hope we can avoid that but the safety net of scoring yourself and having an attacking emphasis is important.
I don’t think sitting on the edge of our box would do me any good, or my team or our fans. If we’re going to do it, we’ll do it our way. If we’re going to lose, we’ll do it our way.
“It’s obviously going to have to be a massive performance and I think we have to score. I think we saw the quality of AC Milan in the first game, so we know the task. We have to perform at a very high level but I think we’re capable of that and hopefully that is the case. “
According to Sir Alex, the most important element of United’s approach will be ball retention in order to curb the attacking potency of Milan and increase hopes of a vital away goal.
“The bigger the game, the more goals seem to change the pattern of it,” he said. “Our main aim tomorrow will be to have an attacking emphasis with our discipline. We will have some discipline about our game here.
“The nature of big games and playing away from home means that possession of the ball is the most important thing. Hopefully we can keep it for 90 minutes, which would be very difficult!”
In stark contrast to their second round exit to Milan in 2005, United have gathered valuable big game experience in recent seasons. Although Sir Alex admits Wednesdays venture into the lion’s den is fraught with danger, he is confident in his side’s qualities.
“We are pleased at the developing nature of the team and it does help you on big occasions – we’ve proved that time and again in the past and tomorrow will certainly be the biggest test so far you think. You have an anxiety about big occasions and hope that everything works out the way you want it to.
“I’ve got a team with confidence that will run to the last minute and will definitely have a go, there’s no question about that."
DO IT THE UNITED WAY! COME ON!!!!!!!!!

Im stuck at work (finally, I have found a way to be on these boards at work. 1000th post here I come) and its fair to say that I am starting to fill my pants. I have not been this nervous for a game for a long time. Straight to the pub after (I forgot my bottle opener) and finally the match can get underway. Im sure the clocks around the World are going backwards. Its been 16:34 for about 4 hours.
I hope the players are not as nervous as the fans cos im shitting it.

It’s getting to the stage that Fergie knows as squeaky bum time. It’s been a while since we were at this stage so I had forgotten how it felt. Just want the match to start and get it over with no matter what happens. Been trying not to look at the web all day but curiosity gets the better every time. Even though the premiership is the big one for us there is something about Europe that gets the butterflies going every time. Come what may over the next week or 2 the season has been awesome. I’m glad the Pool are in the final cause if we get there I think it will be a cracker. Man this day has been slow!

Ouch, i remember that guy was a right cunt! We just have to hope he doesn't do anything stupid. Well done finding that out though... Really disappointed with the referee decision though

Sorry I don't like to be the one with bad news. Its on the UEFA website if you wanna find it.
The ref in last nights game wasn't bad so maybe they have instructions to be a bit more leniant. I hope so. I can't stand the 3 bookings rule. If Scholes missed out on a final, id be gutted. On the plus side, if he did get booked he would run his arse off with nothing to lose like in 99.

Less of the bladder stories please luv I'm getting more nervous as kick-off approaches; I just hope the lads can pull it off, otherwise i'm gonna be well depressed tomorrow. That depression will be heightened by gloating scousers. Although the League has been our main emphasis this year, it would be nice to beat the dippers in the Champions League wouldn't it!?!
