If Rooney is injured for the mid-week game, will we rush Tevez in? It's been said he will play the derby gam, but i think we might sorta need him =\ No doubt we are going to need a striker midfield. This is why I was so fucked off with letting two strikers go within days of each other, as with Ole out and Saha seeminly randomly being kidnapped by gypsies and disappearing, we have no cover. Tevez aint fit, but he'd probably done us good today, and if Rooney's injury is serious... I dread to think what will happen. Maybe Anderson will be used as a striker or whatever, but we NEED to have strikers available and we NEED to get those goals scored. Today was one of those days, if we had a match like this two months into the season people would just accept it as something to happens, however this SHOULD not happen in our first match. People can talk around it and whatever, but not winning the first match of the season is a HUGE disadvantage not only points wise and the other top teams having those points more than us, but because of the psychological aspect. I'm just so pissed off at the moment every other word that's come out of my mouth the last hours have been fuck and c*nt. As usual u reached the point...I mean everybody knows we cannot afford to stay on the pitch without strickers of course our team is an attacking one but its not like having 2 aviable strickers playing for us and other 2 on the bench...letting go Rossi and Smith at the moment seems the most stupid thing United did. As u said was the first game and losing the first game is not good especially for the moral.

Today should have been a relatively easy win. Like a few occasions last season we have these games where we dominate possession and create chances but our finishing and decision making when it matters is poor. Ronaldo bailed us out of a couple of these games last season- Fulham for example. We really need to have strikers available and the finishing being a lot better than it was today. We can no longer wait for Saha and Ole to be fit. Let’s hope Tevez does the job, especially if we’ve now lost Rooney.

Just realised that in the last 5 games of last season and the first 2 of this, we've scored 2 goals. Jesus...

Rooney's got a hairline fracture of the foot. Sounds like he's out for a spell. All in all a pretty shit first day for our season. Things can and will only get better.

Gash. Utter gash. Carrick was brilliant but our players were strolling around like the game was won when they ought to have been charging into the box (I'm looking especially at Giggs, Ronaldo and Scholes). Played like Arsenal.

one things for sure, scholes didnt get into the flow, but hopefully will be back to his best now.
we sure do miss strikers AGAIN!, reading played all their players behind the ball, and with them fighting like that it is hard to score. anderson should have been on the bench, surprised whats wrong with all, but i am sure anderson could be the man we need up front.

It's on BBC. 6 weeks. He'll miss the Chelsea game. Is there any chance at all that Saha might be fit? Again? Ever.......

incredibly disapointed with today, i think this shows we're light up front, today showed we miss an orthodox striker saha would have good today but he's unreliable we need something different up top. Scholes was poor he seemed to be defending more and carrick had the freedom

Saha and Ole are training but I dunno what that means. They could still be out for a couple of weeks yet. Campbell might get a shot...or Larsson might be loaned again.

saha should be back soon, so should ole...both will be back and create a partnership for a month crushing everyone in their way and then both get injured and that lets tevez and rooney get back into form and all etc etc...long story.

Anderson - Tevez front line the next few weeks, anyone? With Saha giving pointers from the mobile physio trolley up and down the touchline.
