i know its early in the season but it already is a must win game. if we drop points here we could be 6 points behind the chavs and in the relgation zone! That would do nothing for team morale. A win is a must!!!

A win is a must!!! only because it's still August do I find the fact we're even close to the relegation zone mildly amusing, can't say the same if we don't get out of the bottom half by this weekend.

Very important game for us. There is a lot of off field problems at Spurs so hopefully that can somehow affect them on the field.
They are coming off a big win and us a big loss and that makes Man Utd really dangerous. The pressure is on and Im confident the boys will respond positively.

This is a game of 2 keepers - a dodgy Brit and (Rio's Mate) VDS who supposedly got injured last week for the Dutch?
A must win at all costs... no slip up allowed...

Great news from manutd.com:
Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that Louis Saha could be on the bench for Sunday's must-win clash with Tottenham at Old Trafford.
The French striker has not played since the Champions League semi-final defeat to AC Milan on 2 May because of a knee complaint which resulted in surgery over the summer.
Saha has now completed two full weeks' training and is in contention for a spot on the subs bench this weekend.
Meanwhile, a scan has shown there is no damage to Edwin van der Sar's foot meaning the Dutchman is fit to start Sunday's game.
The 36-year-old goalkeeper picked up a knock in training whilst on international duty for Holland earlier this week, but Sir Alex confirmed his No.1 stopper is okay.
There was more good news for the Reds after confirmation that both Owen Hargreaves and Anderson are fit. Hargreaves sat out England's friendly defeat to Germany because of tendonitis, while Anderson missed last weekend's derby loss with a hamstring strain. However, both are available for Sunday, with Hargreaves likely to start

Hargreaves is fit and will start and Anderson is fit too which means he could make the bench. Saha might even start we never know. This is great news. If Saha gets through this match with no injuries the Hurray! and if not then a new striker will come in.

However, both are available for Sunday, with Hargreaves likely to start. Gary Neville's bad luck continues with the news that he will be out of action for a further two weeks after picking up a thigh injury in training last week. The Reds' defender has been missing since the middle of March after initially injuring his ankle. An operation followed in May from which he made a full recovery. But in doing so, he suffered a calf strain, before picking up his latest knock. At last. The future is Red. The future is United.
Brilliant news. Really looking forward to seeing Anderson at last, and let's hope Saha can get fit and stay like that for the rest of the season.
i think Vds and Hargreaves will start, But Saha and anderson will be on the bench. It wouldn't be fair to throw either Saha or Anderson into the deep en, and it wouldn't be wise either. Lets just hope that Anderson and saha can make the bench, and that when they are ready to come on they can actually make an impact. Let's face it, there better players to bring on then O'shea and Campbell

CARRICKEXCLUSIVE: WE NEED THE POINTS A fortnight ago, it’s safe to say Michael Carrick and his team-mates would have laughed if you’d told them they would take just two points into this weekend’s visit of Spurs. But while the Reds’ very real plight may be the subject of mirth elsewhere, three games without a win is no laughing matter for Carrick and co, as he tells Red View. The former Spurs midfielder is aware that Sir Alex Ferguson’s side need to get back into the winning habit and, while the omens are certainly in United’s favour - Spurs are without a victory at Old Trafford in their last 18 attempts - nothing can be taken for granted, especially in the current climate. “As a player, history means nothing,” says Carrick. “You can only concern yourself with the present and this Spurs side know they can be a threat, especially with the attacking options they have." Tottenham visit Old Trafford on the up, following victory over Derby, and England midfielder Carrick expects his former side to continue in an upward trend over the course of the season. “I think they'll be pushing for a top four finish," he says. “I have some good mates there and I'd really like them to do well. Of course, I won't be thinking about that today. It'll just be a case of going out onto the pitch and getting the job done for United because we need the points.” Not much of an interview just carrick telling us what we already know really, just thought i'd post it

Umm...thanks Carrick I wasn't sure whether we needed to win this one or not, I thought we'd be happy being in 16th place. Thanks for the update Captain Obvious.
