Well I am from Manchester and I may have had reservations about fans from other countries in the past but since I started coming on RoM I have heard from United fans from Italy, Norway, USA, Lebanon, Sweden etc.etc.who are clearly as committed to United, if not more so, than I am. Like it or not United are a global club who mean a lot to millions of people all over the world and it hasn't been any other way in any of our lifetimes. All this snobbish ' I'm a bigger fan than you.....it means more to me coz I'm from Manchester' stuff is bollocks and is getting old already. yeah but u have to understand there are only few from outer countries who will take the time to learn about the rivalry real good who will learn the clubs history, and who will love to go to OT and sing their asses of unlike many others who just go there to watch united, get the point? the only thing a few are trying to get out is more people willing to sing and be behind their teams no matter what, and honestly how many fans will there be from outside UK if we get relegated? not many at all not many at all. It doesn't matter at all...only a tiny, tiny percentage of foreign fans will ever get to come to O.T. So they are hardly to blame for the lack of atmosphere. Blame all seater stadia! (and therefore the scousers)

no you can't say the one before 2005 was better, what about roma, milan, scousers, rent boys, chelski. when we want to no one can create a better atmosphere than United fans so i reiterate my first point, some fans feel wedont need to get behind the team against shit teams cos the fans are expecting the team to perform well regardless. which is the truth

i think the response to your point shows we are incredibly passionate about united. lets look at the facts we have the est away support no doubt about it, who sings better at home? chelski? no arsenal? definately not, scousers? one song lol, citeh? you are taking the piss right? pompey and newcastle fans are good but that is because theyve been starved off success, or maybe not, maybe there just good at getting behind there teams
but what would benefit atmosphere in stadiums up and down the league is a simple approach, one that i brought up on this very thread
ALLOW STANDING FFS CHARGE LESS and i personally gurantee this wouldnt disillusion and alienate proper fans make it happen...... NOW!!!!!!!!!!

Awww well well few of you will hate me after that! But in some things people have said here like the hard die fans from Manchester,it sounded more like "Im from Manchester so Man United is my property" No way..Man United is not only an English fans property is the club WE all fans loves all around the world i would give everything to be there every week but i cannot afford. Of course fans from other counries cannot fully understand what really happens in the stadium during the game, cos from the tv we hear the chants we singing along with you and we believe everything is fine but we dnt really know what really happening behind the scenes. But judge someone who comes from another country or say this person love United less than you is PATHETIC we're here cos we got something in common MAN UNITED. I think real fans should never being against but fight for their team supporting them in every way they can. You can fight and give something special as only you guys can do from there and we(the foreigns) could make the same things from here. But please stop to Judge the foreigns as someone who wants to steal United from your hands or even worse who is not good enough to support United cos is not from UK cos in most of the things you guys said thats the impression u gave, well at least to me. If i wrong i apologize, but remember WE ALL FOLLOW UNITED

LOVING AND SUPPORTING a team means that you know much about the team, u love to follow the team, u will sing ur ass out there to get behind the team and be a part of it. if not im sry i cant call u a fan.

I don't think it’s only down to 'glory hunters' or day trippers etc for the lack of atmosphere. I guess some upper class rich people (not all) especially the ones who are posh don't sing and chant as much as they don't want to be abusive or to swear etc
Also many of the people who sit near me are old guys and women who have been season ticket holders for years, you can tell they are loyal fans as they are there week in week out but don't sing much, i imagine when they were younger they used to be the crazy type jumping around and singing but now their old they don't have the energy to stand up all game singing away and clapping.
A singing stand or two would be a good idea in my opinion and maybe a terraced stand option if that ever comes available.

redarmy and richt i wasnt replying to you it was to the persont hat said "if anything, people who arent from manchester are more hardcore fans" i think that is utter bollocks....u 2 lads av proven that u do care for the club and know what your talking about so i havnt got a problem, i just hate all these so called fans that only support united because they are good. Ok, I probably didn't express myself all that well... All I was trying to say was that some United supporters from other countries, are just as passionate about the team as fans who are actually from Manchester. We actually chose United of all the teams in the world because we love them no matter if they're not from our country. I would personally follow United even if they weren't in the Premiership, that wouldn't mean a thing to me. Oh, and another thing. If this doesn't prove I'm a true fan, I don't know what does... I've only been to England once, this summer, to London. I saved money for a long time. I've always wanted to go to England because I have great respect for that country. And while I was in London, the Community Shield match was taking place. So, I took the last money I had and bought a ticket for the game and went to Wembley to support my team! And I sure did sing and chant and all that! That was the best bloody day of my life so far! And if that doesn't prove I'm a true fan....

As many of you i dnt like the ones who goes there just to watch a football game occasionaly i mean u can go there once a year and im sure a real fans would make anything special to have fun and support their team once there but there's lot of people who goes there for a different reason, but i dnt think this happen only with the foregins fans.
