We can beat Dynamo Kyiv both home and away, and hopefully Sporting at home too. So I can expect at least 5 points from the next 3 European games. That said, I prefer if Sporting finished second and Roma get a UEFA Cup sport

Pitch aside, the atmosphere was the best it's been this season (at Home). No surprise, as every other season in Europe it's normally like this. Great voices of Manchester.

Yes, very odd atmosphere. Totti made to feel very welcome when he took a corner, he took it like a man though. Don't think we were lucky really, just about shaded it, thought we only looked like conceding when we were down to 10 men as Rio was in control as usual. I said before the season you won't find a better defender in the world.
MEN very harsh on TK, he's our 3rd choice keeper really. Nani was excellent, Ronaldo good, Anderson actually showed some promise. Saha was totally anonymous and Rooney still doesn't look himself, maybe the goal will give him more confidence. Loving Tevez' attitude, he could be the new Scholes with his crazy tackling.

I agree with all of that. Especially the MEN rating of 5 for TK. I thought he did well as our stand in keeper. He does a good Raimond Van Der Gow type job for us. Underrated, that is. Who would really like know that each week the only chance you will have of playing is if the 1st choice get injured ?

Great result. Performance was a good one. Well done to TK for standing in and doing a good job, against Rona and Birmingham. I thought Nani was excellent, and desrves a place in the first 11. It is a shame Ronaldo's goal didn't stand as it was brilliant. We're picking up the wins so you can't argue, and we're getting there performance wise!

It does seem like things are coming together which is why I never felt like there was a need to panic at all. The important thing is that there is evidence of us being able to really open things up at some point and be a bit more dominant, but having seen most of the match last night I thought we looked pretty good and well done to Kuszczak for stepping up.

WAYNE ROONEY last night conquered the Romans — but Cristiano Ronaldo’s face was left in ruins. Manchester United scraped past the Italians thanks to Roo’s first goal for more than five months.
But winger Ronaldo was bloodied after a late clash with Roma sub Mirko Vucinic.
United boss Alex Ferguson claimed: “I did not see it but Cristiano said he was elbowed.
“He had four stitches in his eyebrow.
“It was unfortunate because the game was played in a good spirit and there was a good atmosphere. “There is always a possibility an incident in a match of this kind can set things off — particularly after our 7-1 win here last season. But congratulations to both sets of players.”
Rooney’s 70th-minute winner was his first goal since he scored in the 4-2 victory at Everton on April 28.
Ferguson added: “Great movement and passing created the opening and it was an excellent goal.
“It is only Wayne’s fourth match since coming back from injury and he is still trying to get rhythm and match fitness.
“But it will do him good to score, especially when goals are expected of him.”
United have won six of their last eight games 1-0.
Ferguson admitted: “It’s a disease and we are trying to get a vaccine for it.”
United are now top of Champions League Group F with two wins from two.
Fergie insisted: “Ten points will get us through and we have six. We now have two games against Dinamo Kiev.
“I don’t want to be going to Rome for the last game needing a result.”
TheSun Vucinic definitely elbowed Ronnie, and should've been sanctioned for it. I hope Ronnie will be ok... I think we won't have any problems getting the points we need before Rome.

I dont think he meant to elbow Ronnie. He is a Crouch like player - big gangly with arms and elbows everywhere. It wasnt a dirty game and big up to Roma for trying to play. They could have been dirty and niggly but tried to beat us by playing football.

My man of the match was a toss up between Rio and Nani. Glad Rooney has got off the mark, another cleen sheet, another victory and another three points. You couldn't ask for much more other than the free flowing attacking football we come to expect of our club.

You're right, everything else was fine, no harsh play during most of the game. I was pleasantly surprised everything went ok, considering the last season game at OT.

Exept for the elbow that probably wasn't on purpose and a very deliberate knee in the back it was a good spirited game.
