I don't think Kiev are that good on the road, therefore a good time to play the likes of Fletcher, Pique, Saha, Nani, and Carrick. These guys need games.
We have a big game on Sunday against Blackburn, therefore important to rest some of the 1st teamers - VDS, Ferdinand, Rooney, Ronny, Giggs, and Anderson.
I'll go with
Kuszczak
Brown - Pique - Vidic - Evra
Fletcher - Carrick - Hargreaves - Nani
Tevez - Saha
Subs - VDS, Neville, Simpson, O'Shea, Rooney, Ronaldo.
After the Arse game, I think the guys will be keen to batter Kiev.
I predict a riot!! 4-0.

ALEX FERGUSON is set to reward Louis Saha for setting up Manchester United’s second goal at Arsenal with a Champions League start on Wednesday.
French striker Saha brilliantly linked up with Patrice Evra to create Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal at the Emirates on Saturday.
United are aiming to bounce back from the disappointment of letting the Gunners snatch a point in injury time by despatching Dynamo Kiev for the second time in a fortnight.
And a victory at Old Trafford would book their place in round two with a 100 per cent record from four group games.
Saha, 29, is returning after knee surgery in the summer. And boss Ferguson said: “Louis made a marvellous contribution when he came on.
“He made a great pass for the second goal to Evra who squared it for Ronaldo. I had the strongest bench we’ve had all season and that’s encouraging for us.
“The lads who have been playing all this time have been fantastic but we can now alternate our teams a little bit better.”
Michael Carrick, who returned from an elbow injury as a sub at Arsenal, could win a start.
Gary Neville could also squeeze onto the bench having played his first reserve game since being injured last March.

If he plays Saha, I hope Rooney goes on the bench. He deserves a break since he has been playing at 80mph for the last few weeks.

Dynamo ready to usher in new dawnMonday 5 November 2007by Igor Linnyk from Kiev A 1-0 defeat at home against FC Metalist Kharkhiv and a serious medical problem for coach Jozsef Szabó have prompted another rethink at FC Dynamo Kyiv. Secondary concernLosing against Metalist was another serious blow for Dynamo, who are now ten points adrift of Ukrainian Premier League leaders FC Shakhtar Donetsk and, perhaps more gallingly, four points behind second-placed FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk in the race for the second 2008/09 UEFA Champions League place. When the 67-year-old Szabó was admitted to hospital at the weekend with a heart problem, however, the club's poor briefly became a secondary concern. 'He needs to get well'Now Dynamo have announced that Szabó, hired following the resignation of Anatoliy Demyanenko after UEFA Champions League Matchday 1, will step back, allowing his 39-year-old assistant Oleh Luzhny to take command for the time being. Dynamo president Ihor Surkis said: "Szabó had seen doctors a few times before becoming coach this autumn and we knew about it, but an ambulance had to be called in this time. He needs to get well." Longstanding problemStill without a point in Group F as they travel to face Manchester United FC on Wednesday, Surkis feels Dynamo need urgent work to restore their health too. "We can't wait for the winter break," he said. "We will make fundamental changes in the transfer market and add four or five young Ukrainian players to the squad." It remains to be seen whether another influx of new players can resolve a longstanding problem at Dynamo. Lobanovskiy's shadowSince the death of the club's iconic coach Valeriy Lobanovskiy in 2002, the club have struggled to maintain the footballing traditions laid down by 'The Master'. "Unfortunately the people who tried to uphold these traditions could not manage it," explained Surkis. "They lacked knowledge, experience and the determination bordering on self-sacrifice necessary to lead a team like Dynamo. Every one of them wanted to work a bit and rest a bit, and it does not work like that." New impetusNow Surkis, president since 2000, is preparing to make a break with the past. "The tradition of continuity is over," he said. "We need to honour Lobanovskiy's results, not his training legacy. Unfortunately, with The Master dead, there was no one else to lead the team in his path. This is why we will change the club. For now, we have eight matches to play [before the winter break] and if they have any honour and conscience, this team will regroup and play decently." Lost seasonSurkis said he was prepared to sacrifice this season's results in the hope of a long-term improvement. "If we don't win a UEFA Champions League berth for next season I will not make a tragedy out of it," he said. "On the contrary, I see a positive side to that. It would give us a year to create a new team which could gain experience in the UEFA Cup. The great [FC] Bayern München have taken that path and we're not ashamed to walk it as well."

We can't play a weakened side just for the sake of it. I can see TK going in goal, with Pique alongside O'Shea, rest Rio just incase the hamstring occurs and Vidic possibly, maybe give him a break since coming back from the concussion. Or keep him in the side), Brown at right back, as Neville is getting fit again, Evra left, as he's on form, Carrick and Hargo in the centre mid, to get their mach sharpness back and let them play together on the big stage, Nani and Anderson on the wings, as Fletcher's far better in the centre than on the wing and is wasted there and Tevez and Saha up front. He might even play Dong!

Not sure if wholesale changes are needed. Fist and foremost we need to win to qualify and that should be the primary aim. Talk of Dong starting is crazy. Maybe bring him on once game is won. Defo Saha/Rooney to start. Carrick/Hargo in mid. Fletch/Nani on the wings.

I hope Fergie will rest some players...playing at home must give us and advantage, they don't look so good so i can predict another 4-1 even if id hate it concede a goal to them we conceded too many (lol ) lately

I don't really see why people are saying rest Van Der Sar? I mean he's a keeper, at this stage in the season he doesn't need resting. Yeh when we've guaranteed our qualification then play Kuszchak, but leave VDS in until then.

^^ I agree. VDS should start. Goals have been going in lately and a clean sheet would do him good.

I dont agree with dropping Rooney. The mans been on fire the past 10 games just scoring at will. Hes only 22 he can handle all these games... plus he missed so many already

What if United rest most of the first XI and fuck this up like last season?
I hope Fergie learns on his 21st anniversary and plays a full first XI, then rests players during the last 2 games, the professional way it should be done.

A mix of resting and playing the best is our best option for this game imo. We can't risk not winning this match, wrapping up the group asap would definatley be the best thing. And getting a goal galore with our best players would only boost our confidence.
This is my preferred lineup for the game:
.........................VDS...........................
Brown......Rio........Pique.........Evra
Fletcher..Owen....Carrick......Nani
............Rooney.......Saha................
Another option could be 4-3-3 to break them down with early goals. Not to keen on this myself but I know SAF and especially Queiroz loves this model.
.........................VDS...........................
Brown......Rio........Pique.........Evra
.......Fletcher..Owen....Carrick........
.......Tevez.......Saha.......Rooney.......

Yeah I agree, we need to win this one and seal up our group quickly that way we won't have to be overly concerned with the remaining matches. We're playing at home so let's get the job done.
