Hell yeah!
Now I want us and Sporting to go through, so even though we have to beat Sporting at home, Dynamo Kiev must beat Roma, and we must beat Roma.

Rooney hardly touched the ball tonight and was pretty quiet for the high standards he usually sets. Yet he still managed to score a goal and assist another in a game that saw us through to the next round of the CL.
Similar to Ronaldo at the weekend, who didn't have much to do with the match, but scored and assisted, Rooney has proven his class. Even when not on the top of his game, he can't help but be involved in our goals. Quality.

lets get some squad rotation going, the team needs to get used to throwing in different players should an injury situation ever arise. Nice chance ot blood a few more youngsters, Anderson, Nani, Pique, Simpson, Evans, I hope are first names on that sheet. N lets give Nev n Saha a few games to get back fitness..... Would be good to give Rooney a rest, but when he's on such form - I'd rather not!

Great to see us go through.
Great to see Simpson and Pique get a run out and good news that despite lots of changes we still look like a team - the squad's coming along nicely and a good return from Carrick.
The forwards - a frustrating mix of brilliant and awkward. But I won't be too critical, it was a deserved 4-0 and achieved in a way that should leave them in good shape for Blackburn on Sunday and Ronnie's looks of sheer frustration (with himself) prior to scoring were absolutely priceless!

It was a good result, I'm pleased Ronnie scored in the end though and had to chuckle at his showboating when the ball nearly went out It's great we're through to the next round so we can maybe experiment with rotation. Come Feb/March we will need a strong squad in case of injuries so it would be good to try things out knowing we're already through.

Wayne Rooney didn’t enjoy the 4-0 win over Dynamo Kyiv because he felt the Ukrainians came to Old Trafford without any intention of attempting to achieve a result.
The 21-year-old Reds striker got on the scoresheet, but he described the match as “like a training match”.
“We are delighted that we’re through and maybe we can rest a few players in the next two games and make sure we’re right for the knockout stages,” he said.
“It was difficult though because they didn’t want to play. It spoilt the game and I didn’t really enjoy playing in it. It was one of those night’s but we did a good job and got the win.
“It was like a training session, they came and showed no enthusiasm to play the game. At times we played some good football, but it was a slow game. The main thing, though, was that we won the game.”
Rooney was pleased with the contribution of young defenders Danny Simpson, Gerard Pique and Jonny Evans, who were all given a chance to shine.
“A few lads came in and did really well – Simmo, Gerard Pique and Jonny Evans got good experience. That will help them in years to come and I’m sure they’ll thrive on that.”
And for the rest of the squad it’s a continuation of the good form the team has been producing in recent weeks. “We’re really confident at the moment anyway,” he added. “We’re playing some good football and we just want to keep that up.”

It was like a training session
It seems Rooney and Hargreaves have the same opinion! lol Probably they dnt have the right team to play in the champions league and sorry but teams like that only ruin the reputation this tournament has.

Sir Alex Ferguson was delighted to see the Reds book their place in the Champions League knock-out stages thanks to their 4-0 win over Dynamo Kyiv, but urged his players to finish job and ensure they top Group F.
Victory over Sporting Lisbon, who conceded a late equaliser to Roma on Wednesday night, in their next match at Old Trafford later this month will ensure that.
The Reds secured their spot in the last 16 of the competition thanks to goals from Gerard Pique - his first for the club - Carlos Tevez, Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo in a somewhat lacklustre 90 minutes.
"I don't think it was a perfect performance, but it was a perfect result that gets us into the knock-out stages of the Champions League so we're very pleased with that," the boss told Sky Sports.
"It's very important that we win the group now though and that's what we intend to do in the next game."
The Reds endured a frustrating opening half hour with chances few and far between thanks in the main to Kyiv's cautious approach.
"They adopted a man-marking system which made it very difficult for us," admitted Sir Alex. "It was something new for the younger players because it's not an approach many teams take. But they did it quite efficiently.
"We needed the little break with the double deflection for the first goal and that opened the game up for us. The second goal was terrific and after half-time we looked comfortable and had far more attacking impetus."The United boss paid tribute to his young performers on the night, most notably goalscorer Gerard Pique, Danny Simpson and late substiute Jonny Evans.
"They will have got some good experience from this match and also the understanding that they have a great chance [to make it] at this club," he said.
"Pique, Simpson and Jonny Evans are all terrific young players. They know what's required when they go into the first team and they know their futures are with this club. Tonight only gives them encouragement that they're doing the right things."

Didn't get to see the game, only Tevez's goal on the news - great movement, body strength and finish!
Sorry if I've missed this, but where was Saha? Also, what's happened to VDS??

I'm so happy for the young lads, especially Pique. They were great and they got a bit of experience they'll need later on. I'm just a bit disappointed with Nani. Where was he at all? He was almost unnoticeable during the game and his corner kicks were nothing brilliant. Well, maybe it just wasn't his day... We're in the knockout stage, but I think Fergie will try to maintain first position in the group, which is just fine by me I think we can do it even by resting some of the key players for the next 2 games. Oh, Ronnie's goal - brilliant #clap# #unitedbanner#

Also, what's happened to VDS?? saha came on around 65th minute i dont remember. and he was brilliant again. TK got his chance in goal of course. vds cant play everygame and all, TK need his chance as well, and he did real good.

"Goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar was withdrawn after complaining of pain in a toe injury at half-time, although the veteran Dutchman should be fit for Sunday's clash with Blackburn."
