Despite Arsenal and Chelsea becoming United's main championship rivals over the past decade, an encounter with Liverpool is still the game which conjures up the most passion in supporters and players alike.
Saha acknowledges this, and despite being a member of numerous sides which have achieved considerable successes in the past, he still ranks United's victory over their arch-enemies in March as the highlight of his career so far.
"My main memory of last season is that the win at Liverpool kick-started us towards the title," he said.
"I have played there a few times now but the win we had there last season was amazing. That is one of the greatest feelings I have ever had as a footballer.
"It proved we were strong enough.
"We are going there much earlier in the season this time and there is still a long road ahead. But it does give us a chance to show exactly how good we are."

"Alonso was training today and hopefully he will be okay for the weekend," Benitez told the club's official website.
"He might have problems because he hasn't trained with the group for a long time, but physically he will be fit."
Steve Finnan was kept out of the Marseille triumph with a knock and Benitez admits he is doubtful for the United clash; while the fixture comes too soon for Daniel Agger (foot).

wont be easy game, dippers will be probably even more motivated after win against marseille we must win midfield battle and push them. close their wings (benayoun and babel) and it will be ok, i think. just hope for win, no matter the result, we need win.

vs My team: VDS Brown - Rio - Vida - Evra Ronaldo - Anderson - Hargreaves - Giggs Teveth - Rooney Bench: PIG - Nani - Carrick - Oshea - Saha Torres will be their main threat. Hopefully Rio can keep him in his pocket. Should be a tense match, but we shall prevail. 1-0, Rooney scoring in front of the kop !

Although, i expect more out of such a strong attacking team, i'd say 3-0. Do u know anywhere to watch the game? Im prolly watching it with a few friends on a big screen, but would rather go to peel pub or somewhere if its open to show it.

Van Der Sar
Brown - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra
Ronaldo - Hargreaves - Anderson - Giggs
Rooney - Tevez Not predicting anything but I really want Ronaldo to score his first goal against the Dippers and I think it may come this time around especially with the goalscoring streak he is on. Rooney will be fired up as usual and it'd be interesting to see how Anderson plays, if selected, because he played well against Arsenal and is looking good for United. We have everything there to win this game, the last six games in the league have brought 5 victories and 1 draw for United so we're going good. Another 1-0 will do me, I'd love for us to spank 'em in their own back yard though. C'mon United!

Can't seeing it be too hard of a game, granted they did win this week, but we are fresh, and coming off a premier league win and watching the kids grind out a draw against a top side. I hope history repeats itself and we come out top of the league

Sure Liverpool might be a fiercer contest, but I think he can handle it. He's ready! He's was great against Fabregas and he's far better than anything the dippers have in centre midfield. Let him at them. Can I just say I particularly like the title of this thread? Short and to the point!

THE big one.
My team would be:
-----------------------------------VDS
Brown---------------Rio---------------Vidic--------------Evra
Ronaldo------------Hargreaves---------Anderson----------Giggs
------------------------Rooney---------------Tevez
Hopefully Hargreaves will be fit as we need his bite in midfield, i wouldn’t feel as confident with Carrick there especially given his form this season.
2-1 To Utd i think. It will be a tense, nervy close game imo as usual.
Is anyone off here going? It's my first time doing Liverpool away, can't fuckin wait!
