Played ok but with the chances it should have been 4 or 5! Anderson was excellent. Lovely bit of play on the right on one occassion. Another poor performance by Carrick I personally thought. Very frustrating. Never mind though. We got the 3 points and now we can concentrate on the cup before we play Newcastle. Brilliant goal too.

Delighted we've gotten the three points but wish we would have scored more. He had the opporunities and it was times like this that I wish Solksjaer still played.
Tevez,Evra, Anderson and Nani were all superb today. Tevez could have had three on his own and I really like the way he played today.
Ronaldo played good and had some decent chances especially with that backheel to Tevez.
We need to start finishing the games now. Or we risk being burned like we did against West Ham!

I think it is actually very disappointing. Birmingham really threatened us in the final 20minutes. we didn't look confident at all. what's wrong with them, suddenly losing the confidence and rhythm in these last 2 games? is it because Fergie was not there? w\Well Nani should have tapped in home simple, instead of trying that fancy flick. Anyway, pleased that we won, although luck wasn't totally with us tonight.

They only "threatened" in the last 20 mins and didnt have any clear cut dangerous chances. Our defense knows how to absorb pressure like that.

well because on the offensive part we cannot link up fluidly as usual. We didnt look like we could finish them, IMO. In the final 20, we even struggled to get out of our own half. From what i saw, we looked really nervous in the final 20. well maybe it's just me that nervous, because of last week. Hey, we conceded 2 free kicks in injury times just outside the penalty area! Last week we lost from two free kicks. It's just not the normal red devils.

what do you except from team who are losing 1-0 at old trafford? they had nothing to lose so they push and we defended so wheres the problem and they didnt have any real chance to score tevez hits post twice and ronaldo had few good chances to score, nani was close performance overall was great

Atmosphere was dire. I think that's due to all the hangovers, people committed elsewhere, etcs, but still disappointed.

"Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says Carlos Tevez took a heavy knock on his ankle and is unlikely to play in the FA Cup tie against Aston Villa on Saturday - but Wayne Rooney should return. Fergie also had a go at the atmosphere at Old Trafford today, describing it as "like a funeral"."

I hope its just some bruising and that his ankle gets better.

I see him getting carried by Swire and someone else, but couldn't make out (prolly another physio). He had a massive smile on his face, as did all of us lot. It was a funny sight. Hope it isn't serious.

Carlos Tevez has broken down in Manchester United's 1-0 victory over Birmingham City. After scoring the only goal of the game at Old Trafford, the South American eventually had to be replaced after failing to shrug off a hefty first-half bang on the ankle.
Tevez was carried into the tunnel by two members of the United's backroom staff after the final whistle, with manager Sir Alex Ferguson confirming it is unlikely he will be involved at Villa Park next week.
"It was a bad tackle and the longer the game went on, the worse the injury got," said Ferguson.
"In the end, we had to bring Carlos off. We will assess him tomorrow to see what the damage is but he is doubtful for Saturday now."
Ferguson should have a ready-made replacement for Tevez in Wayne Rooney, who missed a second successive game with a virus but is showing signs of being fine for the weekend.
The Scot explained: "It would have been a bit of a risk to play Wayne today but he should be fine for Saturday."
Ferguson was less than impressed by his team's efforts, describing United's performance as 'careless'.
Certainly, Tevez's goal - with the striker finding Cristiano Ronaldo with an overhead kick before racing on to an inspired back-heeled return pass - was at odds with the rest of a mundane contest.
Tevez also hit the post on two occasions, although even this failed to lift a crowd which was almost silent on occasion, drawing a stinging rebuke from Ferguson.
"The crowd were dead," he remarked. "It was like a funeral out there.
"It was the quietest I have heard here for some time and the atmosphere today did not help us.
"There have been periods like that in the past. Some years ago, when we were dominant, the crowd came to be entertained.
"Sometimes we need them to get behind us. They can help produce the right performance but we did not get that today."
Instead, the flat atmosphere only induced more sloppiness from United ranks, which would have proved costly if Mikael Forssell had found the target with two late chances.
"It only takes a second to score and we made it difficult for ourselves. it was a careless performance," added the United boss. "Our finishing was shoddy and by being as careless as as we did, we could have been embarrassed."
Ferguson admitted Tevez's strike was the one bright spot on an otherwise disappointing day, although his team do remain two points adrift of leaders Arsenal.
"It marvellous goal and I think Carlos will go on to get 20 now," said the Scot, who celebrated his 66th birthday yesterday.
"Once we are over the New Year period, we can have a look at where we are. But effectively, the season starts now and it could be nip and tuck right to the end."
