We are in the box seat for 4th March.
Hopefully Ferguson can tweak the team and we play with more insight.
Was Rooney's offside 'goal' going in anyway? I missed seeing it.

Good result. All that's needed now is to keep them scoreless in the return. If Rio & Nemanja are still fit by then, I'm confident.

Im not happy by the way we played 2nite we didn't pushed enough and the result was a pure gift for us.
we've been lucky to score at the end of the game, but i dnt like(like versus city) our attitude to score late goals cos means we needed 87 minutes to score a bloody goal and thats not good for a team like ours who is an attacking one!
No that Lyon played better but we def played worse!
Dnt know why Fergie took so long to replace Hargreaves with Carrick and let coming in Nani and Tevez, maybe if those two started with the seconf half the result wouldn't be 1-1 at the end of the game.
Bah dnt know...maybe im wrong, but i dnt really like how we played 2nite but im glad with the draw.

Tactics nearly cost us dearly. Play to the team's strengths and we might win this competition. Fergie is not a tactical genius and this performance will hopefully end that self-delusion once and for all. Giggs and Scholes should not start games from now on. There should be little place for sentiment if we seriously want to win this.

Good result. On reflection, we could have won, but you take a draw in that situation against a decent team like Lyon. For some reason, on teletext, it says United saved themselves from embarrassment. Lyon are not even a bad team! Crazy. Anyway, I thought we looked ok tonight. Didn't create many decent chances, but they played how you should play in the away leg. Very confident for the second leg now. Word of praise for the 2 substitutes too. Nani looked good when he came on and I think he is starting to impress a little now. His cross for the goal was excellent. Tevez was brilliant when he came on too. Deserved his goal and worked very hard. Well done and I hope he enjoyed that rest that I feel he needed. Bring on the second leg.

Score draw is a great result. We deserved it. Contained Lyon well and the home leg has become much easier.

It was scrappy. Scholes and Giggs should not have started, or at least, should not have stayed on as long as they did. Tevez and Nani lit a spark when they came on.
Vidic was great - come on, guys, some props for my man Nemanja. Rio looked a bit tied up at times. Overall, okay performance - looking forward to better at home.

Lyon aren't a bad side to be fair. I thought our marking and passing was poor tonight and was getting worried.
But thankfully Nani and Tevez had enough time to effect the game.
Moving on from here we need to play 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1. Rooney upfront on his own doesn't work for me.
I'm confident we can do it at OT.

I think we had a good first half, when it was pretty even, despite few opportunities. We weren't doing bad until they scored, then it was minimal threat until Tevez came on.
Bloody hell, that Benzema goal came from nothing. No wonder he's being talked about every day.

I have to be happy with the 1-1 result we got but after they scored we only started playing. I think we have seen giggs replacement, cracking ball for tevez goal. I am dissappointed because they were there for the taking and fergie's negative tactics and selection in midfield was poor. Good result but we could of done better. Sign that lad Benzema looks a real talent.

Decent result. Really don't like Rooney playing up top on his own, and we looked much better when Teveth came on alongside him. Ronaldo was pretty anonymous again. Thought like others, that Scholesy was poor but I thought Giggs had a good first half. All in all, we got the away goal and came back without a defeat, so can't complain too much.

Oh yeah, and Benzema was class. Great touch, good off the ball and a great finsish. Reminds me of the great Zidane. More in his looks than anything. Ben Zema looked good when he came on, but far too greedy.
