Lots of reports suggesting our summer spending is to be capped at £25M plus whatever we recoup in the sale of other players (hopefully not Ruud)
But where is this information coming from, not heard Fergie say it, nor the Glazers' or in fact anyone remotley involved at united.
Its clear we need major sugery in midfield this summer and the prices being mentioned for our alledged targets mean its likely only one player will be bought if all the rumours are anywhere near reality.
Bearing in mind its a world cup year, other clubs know we are in the market for midfielders, not least of all to replace Keane, and that Chelsea will no doubt try to hijack any transfer we attempt, all of which will innevitably increase said targets value. Surely the budget can't be so low?

I should think its more like 35 mil should the Glazers truely want to compete with Chelsea as they say they do. I will also point out that Fergie has said there will be at least ONE signing this summer, if deals can't be worked out for others then they will be left for now and followed up later when their availability has changed... I wouldn't go round expecting 3-4 signings pre world cup or post.. guess a lot does depend on the Ruud situation this summer which we probably won't find out about until after the world cup  |

To say the truth i think its aroud the 40 million area. Remember at the starting of the season on skysports we were reported having abudget of around 40 million. And don't forget that the Glazers are ready to go all out this summer.  |

Ok realistically Ruud is likely to go, from his comments today it seems he's offering somewhat of an olive branch to fergie I just hope he does't go: Money in: Transfer pot: 25mil Ruud  : 15mil Fletcher: 500k Silvestre: 4mil Richardson: 5mil ---------------------------- Total: 49.5mil Money out: Paying team to take fletcher: 750k Diarra: 20mil Torres: 20mil Kerlon: 6mil ------------------- Total: 46.75mil Rooney: Priceless For some players there's a price for everything else, there's Rooney... |

The only reports I've heard on our transfer, from Glazer (on the BBC radio interview) and Ferguson, and both said that enough money was going to be put forward for Fergie to buy the players he wanted.
Now of course Fergie isnt going to go off and have £100 mill to bring in Shevchenko, Kaka etc. but I imagine he'll have the money to buy the players we NEED.

We need as much depth as possible to challenge for the title next year and selling richardson, smith and fletcher aren't good ideas. |

There's no way United are going to sell FIVE players in a season. No matter what people think of Fletcher, Silvestre, O'Shea, Richardson etc. they're not ALL going to go, I'd be surprised if more than one of them did really. And Ferguson would be absolutely nutty to let them all go.
