Fergie must be pulling his hair out. Problems as it is with getting central midfielders and now he might have to worry about a right wing replacement as well.

Garth crooks was on tv today and summed it up perfectly, he said ronaldo did no more than he would of, that is pointing out to the ref what had happened, he said the fact they play with each other dosent come into it, they are highly paid pro's playing for the world cup not a sunday league side, he then finished with ronaldo didnt get rooney sent off he did that himself. He also said it would not affect them when they return to training.

Well that's Garth Crooks for you. Barely an original and insightful word leaves his mouth.

Mate, that wasn't directed @ you, just a general statement really. I agree with your comments about fair play, but it seems to be part of the game now & we have to accept that. As I said, had it been the other way around, no one would be saying anything about it. We'd all be sat in the pub celebrating getting to the Semis... He's not my favourite player either, but I was just saying that some people appear ready to disown him if he stays, & that isn't the answer if we are to achieve our goals. Oh please don't misunderstand, I didn't take it personally! I just wanted to ensure that my criticism of what I saw wasn't misinterpreted as not supporting the members of our squad. You're right about things being a bit hypocritical because my guess would be that few would have objected if there would have been a role reversal. These kind of situations have indeed become a part of the sport but as a sign of protest I'll still side with the old values of true sportsmanship and not give in to the "win at all costs" mentality that seems so prevalent now. If we accept it then we can't really complain about the Drogbas and Robbens of the world.

Still losing ;D
Interesting, the guy who's winning is the one supposedly promising Kaka. Villar Mir pretty far behind...

Counting started 8.15
Anyway, there's two separate issues. The WC. If Ronny succeeded in getting Roo off -BRILLIANT. Not sporting, fair or anything decent but he did as much in that one action for PORTUGAL, his homeland don't forget, as Fat Frank did for England inthe entire comp. Secondly, the Prem. If there was any 50/50 decision pending Utd/RM, then public reaction against him from Utd and what he'll get next season in the Prem would make anyone go to RM.
