I think that's debatable. For me, that was the time I was starting to get done with the guy. Consensus here was completely skewed towards Martial but the cracks had begun to show for me about his application. Perisic wasn't the answer, but Martial wasn't either. To be fair you're right about Pogba, he has been played completely wrong here. Never ever liked him as a traditional CM - almost as if people at the club never actually saw how he operated at Juventus or with France and just hoped he'd magically change the way he played. I still want him out because of his lack of effort, professionalism and his agent. I couldn't care anymore about the circus that he brings with him. Martial had a dynamite half season under José before he was pushed out by the arrival of Sanchez. But he had to work hard to get into the team under José. We were often playing dull as fuck football and then Martial would liven it up from the bench. Aside from his potential, that’s why we were behind Martial at the time. In that moment, in that season, José was wrong about Martial. We were absolute dog shit after Sanchez usurped him. Long term, it’s fair to say it’s not worked out for him. There’s still a good career in football there for him though, just maybe at a club where he’s the top dog. I just don’t think he has the drive or motivation to be that at any half serious club. he’s the classic case of modern football where young players end up being on top money before they’ve really earned it and get in the old comfort zone.

It was his usual flash in the pan followed by lull periods. Definitely the argument can be made that he still could be given more time because he was still on the younger side. Me personally, I sided with Mourinho. But absolutely nobody envisaged Sanchez would come in and look like a pub level footballer at this club. In hindsight it's easy to say that but at the time Sanchez replacing Martial was a win. I don't think Martial has the character to be top dog, anywhere. He doesn't lead by example, he never puts himself in center stage where there's pressure to perform, on the pitch I don't see hunger/application/tenacity. If Newcastle want him as a part of their getup then we should bite their hand off.

I remember thinking Sanchez and Martial would play together. Martial on the left, Sanchez on the right. It never made sense that we'd be buying Sanchez to play him on the left.

I was concerned about the signing of Sanchez at the time because it stank of the Torres to Chelsea one. He’d been dreadful the first half of the season for Arsenal. I was also suspicious that his arrival would shunt Martial over to the right and ultimately out of the team, because that’s the kind of manager José is. If he doesn’t like a player, he rarely changes his mind on them. Rightly or wrongly, he didn’t fancy Martial.

A bit like playing Sancho on the left when Ole spent the last two years claiming he was going to be the answer to our right wing problems. You can seee Sancho is already 10 times better now he's being played properly.

Is this guy for real, well for the last 5 years, you Paul, have not satisfied us fans either with your inconsistent performances, lack of leadership and quite a few periods of absence through injury. I think club and player will be happier without each other, much like the Auba situation at Arsenal.

The 29-year-old is out of contract in the summer, with renewal talks having broken down months ago, and he is widely expected to leave Old Trafford with the likes of PSG, Juventus and Real Madrid all interested in signing him as a free agent.
Pogba won the Carabao Cup and Europa League in his first season with United, but has not won any silverware in the five years since – the longest trophy drought the club have experienced since the 1970s.

After saying he intends to ‘catch up’ on his barren years at United, Pogba told Le Figaro: ‘You have to be honest, the last five seasons have not satisfied me – really not at all.
‘This year it is dead, we won’t win anything. Whether it is with Manchester United or at another club, I want to win trophies.’
Pogba also took aim at Rangnick, saying it has been virtually impossible to find any consistency when his role and midfield partners have constantly changed – an issue he does not have with the national team.
‘It’s simple with France, I play and I play in my position – I know my role and I feel the confidence of the coach and the players,’ he continued.
‘It’s normal to feel a difference at Manchester United because it’s hard to be consistent when you often have a change to your position, or the team system, or your partners.
‘I get along very well with [France boss Didier Deschamps], he gave me a role that I know, but at Manchester United do I really have a role? I ask the question but I don’t have an answer.’

The irony is that all three trophies Pogba won at the club came under Jose and he was instrumental in getting Jose sacked and in another interview recently was complaining about how he was suffering from depression under Mourinho.

He shouldn’t get any more game time in that case. Let Hannibal have a shot. Season is over anyway.

Not so fast. Sun is reporting that we've tabled a £500K a week contract offer to Pogba to "protect our asset" and it has caused dressing room outrage. Apparently other players feel it is unfair to offer him twice what they are getting when he hardly ever plays and talks about leaving all the time.
And of course no doubt Ten Hag hasn't been consulted at all about any of this.

I've never liked this Journo since he blamed English cricket for still picking Broad and Anderson a few years ago when they were in the form of their life and won us a series. Because they'll be old soon was his argument.
Now this sanctimonious pile of shit (not gone past the headline on this one)

I mean, it's Liew. He's a fine writer, but very much a contrarian.
