Barcelona can win without Messi Real Madrid cannot win without Ronaldo I think this shows just how effective he really is. i think it shows barca are a great team whereas madrid are only a good team who rely on individuals. |

He's a phenomenal player, seriously one of the best ever to play the game in my book. He has everything, but yes, the league is obviously poorer than the Premier League which inflates his tally somewhat.
I'd still say his best achievement was scoring 42 that season for us.

Since joining Madrid every game ROnaldo has scored in they went on to win, thats an astonishing fact.
Yes I know my other point shows that Barcelona are a more whole team than Madrid but does that not strengthen the credentials of Ronaldo. His team rely on him to make things happen whereas Messi has players around him of equal quality.
We could be here all night comparing the two, I happen to think Ronaldo is better and it may be my biased opinion because he played for us and Messi didn't.
Ronaldo certainly is the best player I have ever seen live and thats quite a statement as I have seen many world class players playing.

Can we please not have this thread turned into another "Who's better" debate? I like reading about Ronaldo and not having to read about Messi.

i love how twice now you've piped up with how ronaldo is better than messi (like it's a fact) then gone on to ask people not to debate whether ronaldo is better than messi in this thread. you want the final word don't you.
and is it really worth starting a ronaldo vs messi thread, don't see the problem with discussing ronaldo vs messi in a ronaldo thread?

Irrelevent to how I feel about how good/best/greatest ever Cristiano Ronaldo is, can we consign any debate of where his undoubted high ability ranks in world football to another thread please?
Like I said, I like to have this thread for Ronaldo stats and follow his career beyond us. I'd rather not have to filter through a bunch of posts calling him second best to anyone.
I think some others would feel the same way and I for one would appreciate it. Thanks.

Played well enough, one of them was another pen. Two cracking headers either side of it though. I watched the game tonight and he missed two absolutely glorious chances to score, yet it was against Barcelona and he bottled on both occasions. He is ok against the mid-table-to-bottom of the table teams in la liga, but put him against Barcelona, and he does a Casper!! |
