The former agent of Manchester United striker Bebe, who was signed for over £7m, says PSV Eindhoven turned down the player when he was available for free. The 20-year-old Bebe is part of Portugal's Under-21 squad, which faces Stuart Pearce's England on Friday. Five weeks after Bebe had signed for Vitoria de Guimaraes he made the surprise switch to Old Trafford. "I offered him to PSV in May," Goncalo Reis told BBC Sport. "But they turned him down because they didn't know him." PSV were not immediately available for comment. Reis represented Bebe between 2009 and 2011 but in August he received a letter from the striker telling him that he no longer wanted to be represented him by. "I was surprised," said Reis when he discovered soon afterwards that Bebe had signed for United. "I haven't spoken to him since." Despite Bebe's decision to no longer be represented by Reis, the Portuguese agent believes the striker, who before signing for Guimaraes played for Portuguese third division club Estrala da Amador, could prove to be a good signing for United. "He has great potential," said Reis. "For sure he will be better than Nani. He is a very good player."  |

From now on, I will keep quiet on this and just see his progression during the next few months. Promise. He played and he did nothing of note. As for someone saying that he would be better than Nani, not in a fucking 100 years, maybe Anderson yes, but not Nani. What makes you think he won't be as good as Nani? The 90 minutes of him not getting any service but still making his teams best chance? Give the boy a fucking chance. |

I can only hope that Bebes knockers aren't UTD fans but are wind up merchants, all this speculation based on non quoted press reports is piss poor and as for judging him on his performance last night, well lets be honest if you had never seen Rooney play before and you saw him at the world cup would you be happy had we signed him?
The way the press report it, he had a 5 minute chat with a no mark and signed him up.

Did see much of the game and I didn't plan on paying any heed too the game.
I don't judge players at international level, especially under 21's.

And yes, I watched the match last night, and Portugal were shite. If it wasn't for bad finishing in the last 10-15 minutes, we could have won by 4 or 5, they were so piss poor. |

What an unnecessary and childish comment. All he said was that your negativity was getting a bit boring. And nobody was saying that Gibson should get into the team just because he plays for us, they were saying that they were suprised he was so shit he couldn't get into the team over Green. And yes, Portugal was shit. But that wasn't Bebe's fault, it was the defence and midfield. Maybe if they had been better Bebe would have got more service and actually could have done something. |
