It's just an anomaly. Like us bringing through Becks, Giggs, Butt, Nevilles at the same time, and West HAm bringing through Ferdinand, Lampard, Joe Cole, Carrick and Defoe at the same time. IT's just one of those things that you can't really plan for.

Belgium used to be a top, top team yonks ago, but they never met their expectations and faded back into the "Average-Poor" group.

The Belgians were a good team from around 86 to 94, Enzo Schiffo(sp?) was superb, used to love him for some strange reason. Looks like The Germans and Belgians are coming.
Sahin is a cracking player as is Goetze but the former is exactly what we need.

I thought Sain was Turkish, or is that different Sahin??
Not that it really matters, just the posts mentioned him and how promising all the Germans were that are coming through

Not sure how to quote previous posts here but I was referring to Cullen's post yesterday at 12.25 which talks a lot about Sahin then goes on to say how good the German team is shaping up with these young players - no explicit statement saying he is German, and as I say not a big deal, I just wanted to make sure I was on the same page and was thinking of the same player!
Sorry to take this off topic!

Sorry if the post made the impression that Sahin is German, my English is a bit rusty Sahin is Turkish, but was born in Germany. He decided to play for Turkey and made his debut with 17 against Germany as he came on as a substitute to score a late winner! Ozil is pretty much the same, but he opted for Germany and last year everyone was talking about "we got the better Turk playing for Germany" and even though Ozil is a fantastic player too, I think they would love to have Sahin playing for them too

Scattered and hugely unreliable reports that if we don't get Sneijder, we're going to bid for Goetze instead. I don't know about anyone else, but having watched a bit of the Bundesliga last season, I'd be fairly happy if that's the way it worked out.
Wes is hopefully still a proper goer though, but thought I'd post the latest 'gos' for discussion. Gets our minds of the Dutchman!

Is that where it came from? Ach piss. Nevermind!
Actually, what are people's thoughts anyway? My major problem with Goetze would be he isn't a big enough established name. I know, you're going to tell me that if I jsut want big names to fuck off and support City, but I honestly feel we need the likes of Sneijder to add the instant fear factor I talked about in another midfield thread. Goetze a cracking young talent, but I don't know if his signing would have that immediate 'scare the living shit out of rivals' effect. To me, that's the biggest thing against just saying Inter can keep Wesley and going to get this kid.

He's half German actually which is possibly a complete coincidence. Goetze would be tremendous, he'll probably end up t Bayern if nobody signs him this summer though.

He was quite small though i think and we need someone who can play centrally in a 2man and not be bullied. Though quite frankly that logic probably is the reason we didn't go in for Modric as fergie like a strong lad in there and we all know what happened there

Anyone see Dortmund last night?
I stand by my statement that this guy's better than any English kid, including Wilshere. Can't believe he's so young.
