This Herrer farce needs to be addressed by the club asap. Once the press get over the Ozil loving they will have a field day. Someone other than Moyes needs to cone out ant state the facts. Were the price and salary agreed, was it Utd or Bilbao that cocked up. Who were the 3 amigos? It's not an on field footballing issue that embarrassed the club, it off field stuff. So Moyes shouldn't have to sit there answering questions covering the arses of Ed's men. They are quick enough to tweet and issue statement when a 3yr deal with a tyre company is agreed! I think we need a few days for the dust to settle. Already there is a circling of the wagons, Moyes has said he really likes the player but he's too expensive so what was yesterday all about then? The question that needs to be asked, and one that would normally result in a sacking, is why did the club end up paying 4 million more for a player they could have had a month ago. There's no worming out of that one. www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/mufc-manchester-united-plc-red-football-shareholder-ltd-remove-edward-woodward-as-executive-vice-chairman-of-mufc

This is from AS. It's the short version. Spainish speakers, the link to the full version is there so maybe someone could translate: The "impostors" were the lawyers who did the Martinez transfer for Munich. The player and United had been using them as mediators with Athletic. On Sunday, Martinez thought the deal was dead. Then he got a call saying United were offering 30m + 6m bonuses. Athletic rejected the offer but the player asked his agent to tell United to pay the 6m from the salary already agreed with him. (And presumably to give him the +6m bonuses, if he earned them.) United gave the deal the go ahead. The lawyers trotted off to Liga HQ. The player was told we'd be in touch to arrange the medical. The player sat at home waiting for his medical. The lawyers sat in a bar waiting for United to do the money transfer. At 11pm United were briefing the press that the lawyers weren't authorised to offer money on their behalf. futbol.as.com/futbol/2013/09/02/primera/1378132861_970112.html

On a more positive note, potentially Coentrao and Herrera in January? As if Herrera will want to come here now. I don't blame him either.

I think Herrara's position at Bilbao will be compromised now, I think it's clear he wanted the move, I suppose it comes down to damage limitation and how the club handle the backlash now. Still hoping we'll look back and laugh come the end of the season, if were in contention by January and then two players come in, who knows, just have to hope that Woodward is kept in the basement on a lead.

and regarding Ozil.....
I am not angry we didnt sign him for footballing reasons- because I think, if we cant even get the best out of Kagawa, let alone play him then we shouldnt be asking for Ozil in the team. No, what the major problem is, and why manchester United fans are so angry, is the major difference it makes for Arsenal - not only in terms of their team but their standing in Europe. It looks pretty damn impressive to sign one of the best midfielders in Europe.
We didnt sign a player who transformed our team, they did, and whilst doing so they also look pretty good.
I want to see evidence Moyes can use Kagawa and then see where we are.

Someone who is extremely good at unlocking defences yet we haven't seen the best from him, yet. I wish we would start playing Zaha also but feel he will get more game time against the likes of Southampton, Palace, Hull etc this season.

I would add, Arsenal are in London and foreign players seem to believe its a great place to be! small point I know but never the less one Im sure is considered by players. Also agents will probably be saying London is in the South and its so much hotter down there! As for kagawa I agree with you, and need to play him with Roo and RVP some how. We now have Fellaini as a holder to protect the back line.

It is a complete embarrassment, and we have destroyed any good will we had from Athletic Bilbao and the player. A player who was totally settled at althletic Bilabo all of a sudden gets pulled from Madrid game, which they lose 3-1 and has his head turned, and promises made and then ''na your too expensive'' EVERY SINGLE TRANSFER FUCK UP has been down to offering stupid money for players and pissing off the selling club.

Andy Mitten is actually interviewing Woody for the next UWS mag - might be worth buying a copy for those that don't usually.
