Good lad Kyren. Never in doubt. I've got a fiver on Trump. Could there be a Wilson-Trump final?

Wilson really does have a good brainfart in him. Must be a concentration issue. Pots some absolute beauties and plays great snooker, then goes and miscues twice in the same frame and misses some sitters.
Did the same against Hawkins.

Well I was right about Wilson's side of the draw. Definitely favourable. Unfortunately he's a dick and played poorly all day against Gilbert who most players would've been delighted to play in the quarters.
10-6 down a long way back.

Trump starting to make my bet look good Robertson-Higgins is huge. Whoever wins it should make the final fairly comfortably. I think Robertson will edge it.

Yep. Just stuck a fiver on Trump to win it at 11/2. I think it might finally be his year if he can play like he did at the Masters. Robertson is the other big name but the odds for Trump were better, and will shorten if Ronnie goes out here. I backed Kyren Wilson at 18/1 for a bit of added interest. No idea what kind of form he's in this year. The fergiegiveusawave curse set to strike again!

That said, Trump's lost 4 of the past 5 frames, so his form left as quick as it arrived. Robertson also in a very tight match with Higgins - it could be anyone's tournament this year!

In fairness, not long after I said that Higgins had a pretty poor first half-session; he made a ton of fouls and a few mistakes. He pulled it back though. Both are brilliant players. On paper, Trump and whichever of Robertson/Higgins goes through should have straightforward semi finals. Trump/Robertson and Trump/Higgins would both be great games.

Wilson never looked like winning the match. Think the Hawkins game might have taken it out of him.
He's an odd player, every part of his game is sound, great solid cue action but he's really partial to a lapse in concentration.
Also, Higgins is an absolute legend. Even if he loses this game. Never knows when he's beaten.

Unreal stuff from Higgins, although we shouldn't be surprised.
Now just pray we get that Higgins/Trump final. That should be something special.
The other 2 have had a good run but can't have them stinking out the final by inevitably cracking under the pressure. Maybe a little harsh on Gilbert who's had a decent year but can't see either doing anything if they get to the final and play the more established player.

Trump-Higgins would be great. There's probably no worse player for Trump to face in his quest to finally win the Worlds, if he cracks even slightly under the pressure Higgins will take advantage.
No one is cooler under pressure at all times than Higgins, and he's a hell of a player regardless, so if Trump starts to wobble - as he has a bit in his previous games so far this tournament - then he'll take advantage. That said, I think if Trump plays to his best consistently, he should win.

Just had a quick look and Trump has lost his last 9 matches against Higgins! Crazy run, he's certainly due a win against him, doing it in the World Champ Final would be a good time!
Not looking at their recent head-to-head, I would slightly favour Higgins though. Someone almost unrivalled mentally against a player who most say his mentality is what has stopped him achieving more. Having said that, Trump seems to have matured a bit in the last 12/18 months.
Think Trump would have to play pretty faultlessly, as you say, if he starts to have a wobble then Higgins will take advantage.
Hopefully they both get there!

Looks like Gilbert will go one frame away for victory. He's having the tournament of his life. But Higgins obviously still has a good chance, only needs a good break and it's a decider.
