21:05 When I was 13, we didn't live well' Mark Selby 7-5 Ding JunhuiWe've just seen a rare and fascinating pre-recorded interview with Ding Junhui, talking about how his father slept on the floor to help take him to and from events and the pressure he is under when he plays in his native China. "When I play home games in China I feel a lot of pressure as I don't want to play badly when I'm there," says Ding. "My friends keep telling me about back in China and they are more excited than me. "At the moment I just have to focus my own game. If I win it will give a lot of confidence to young players in China to show they can do it too. My family did a great job for me. When I was 13 years old we didn't live too well, but he (his father) has done everything for me." www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/snooker/35268606

Was really routing for Ding but was always playing catchup after going 6-0 down. Interesting final nevertheless.

Any snooker heads here? Been at the Barbican today, got there late so was opposite the Gilbert v Jones table but could still see the Higgins table as well.
This Gilbert guy must have come off the street, was very poor.
Were gonna turn up an hour early tomorrow though to make sure we get Higgins V Selby seats

Higgins destroying Selby in the final so far. Thought this would be a really close match.

This is why I have never liked Selby. Yesterday evening was apparently all about scoring and break-building, he got well beaten. Today's play has been entirely attritional, gruelling, a slog. Selby cleans up. Brilliant player but drags opponents into a dogfight.

He's not the greatest to watch but he gets the job done. Great fightback. Won 8 of the last 9. Higgins himself isn't unfamiliar with dragging his opponent into a dogfight either but he looks gone at the moment. He needs the session to end to regroup for the evening. Be good if he could nick this final frame and gain a bit of momentum.
Fully expecting this to be a late one though. Be surprised if it doesn't go past midnight.

Has Selby rammed a horseshoe up his arse? Had the run of the balls since the start of this afternoon's session. It's been like watching United on a bad day this. Hasn't even had to be good the dull fuck.

Selby clearly hit that black there from the side on camera angle.

This is more like it, sort of. Higgins' last frame and a couple of (nearly) half centuries is a start anyway.
