I dont rate Harte, good shot stopper but he has lead boots on ala Robinson. He gets noticed more because of his clean sheets but I could keep clean sheets in a team with 7 defensive players. Now that City are playing a more expansive game he will be exposed more often.

Hart would be great for us, he's an excellent 'keeper. Kinda off point though, anybody get a decent look at Barkley at the weekend, did he play?

He didn't make the bench on the weekend, maybe he's injured?

BBC SPORT
Everton teenager Ross Barkley is set to sign a new long-term deal to keep him at Goodison Park despite interest from Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea.
Barkley will find himself at the centre of a fight between the Premier League's top three if Everton give any hint they are willing to sell the 17-year-old.
BBC Sport understands Barkley knows of the interest but is happy at Everton.
The club expect him to sign a five-year deal when he turns 18 in December. --------------
They're skint. I don't believe for a second that they'd turn down a decent bid for him.

From his point of view he's better off staying for now though. He's not even established in the first team at Everton so he shouldn't be thinking about going to a bigger club yet. He's only 17.

Rooney signed a new deal a few years before we signed him. Everton just covering themselves. Smart thing to do.

SPORTSMOLE
Everton manager David Moyes has admitted that it will be difficult to keep hold of teenager Ross Barkley.
The 17-year-old has recently been linked with the Premier League's big three of Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City.
"Every club will want Ross as he is going to be an outstanding player," said Moyes. "I'm worried it will be a difficulty for us in the future.
"If you're going to come and try to take our better players we don't sell cheap, that's for sure."
The young midfielder's talent has been likened to that of Manchester United's former Everton teenager Wayne Rooney, who left Goodison Park in 2004.
"Can we carry someone like Ross now? Of course we can," Moyes continued. "Maybe when we had Wayne I didn't think we could hang onto someone of that talent, at that period."
Barkley has already made three appearances at under-21 level for England. ----------------

If someone offers enough money, he'll go. Moyes knows this. Everton are not in the best health, money wise.

I'm not sure If it's just me but are we really in need of youth in midfield? I don't see the need for all these young midfielders given we've got Tunnicliffe, Pogba, Cleverly et al. coming through the ranks, not to mention Ando, Fletch and Carrick.
Granted we still need a creative solution but buying a host of 17 year old's won't be the short term solution - If anything the long term solution is already at the club?

You already mentioned Cleverley, so you knw he's there. He is our creative solution. Look at our performances this season with him beside Anderson in midfield. Now compare with how we've done while he has been injured. Now tell me he isn't class. #thumbup# #eyebrows#

Bestie, I am not doubting Cleverley's obvious talent. This is more for curiosity terms than anything. But do you think he is that good and our woeful performances have showed that. Or does the fact that we've nothing else creative in midfield overemphasize his ability?
