This doesn't really make sense, but sounds like something we'd do. How many midfielders could we have had for 30m? Sneijder (from Real), Ozil, Khedira, Van Der Vaart...

I don't get this really, as whiteknight has said, how many top class proven midfielders are there we could have had for £30million?? And we're seemingly choosing to spend it on a 23 year old? Massive pressure to be under that is for the young lad.
Would much prefer Sneijder, Kaka, Ozil IMO.

He was the star player against us at Stadium Of Light, that pass for their goal was sublime. He had a decent game at OT too, caused Evra some problems, that cross for their first was good.
Also, I like how this board is dismissing him before we've even officially signed/bid for the lad.

Lot of reports now, first came from the Telegraph, Portuguese press are also picking up on it now. Informal agreement for the summer for a fee of around £25m + add ones. I guess he'd end up being our Mata / Silva type player, I certainly wouldn't complain.
