would love to see opeth, i'm betting it's a unique sort of gig. They're pretty boring.

As far as stage presence goes, they are very boring. However Mikael always has amusing banter with the crowd between songs, which helps a bit. They're much more like a floor-staring prog band on stage than a Metal band. Despite that, musically they're incredibly tight and that always gets the crowds going. I was there for the filming of their Lamentations DVD and that was a pretty active crowd for what you'd expect from an Opeth gig, same for the other time I saw them with Akercocke at the Mean Fiddler (long before it closed).

nature of the beast, lots of their songs are 10 minutes long. you can't keep a crowd rocking through that type of set.

Seen Opeth a few times, they're very good but yeah they're not really known as a fantastic live band.
Rammstein are the best band I've ever seen live as far as putting on a show goes.

Rammstein, Kiss, Metallica or Maiden for me, in terms of best live show.
Not necessarily performance, I think Machine Head or MEgadeth would take that title, but in terms of the whole package those top four really take some beating.
