need to catch up on metal bad. haven't listened to much new for a good few years someone give me a top 5 or 10 metal albums of the last 5-10 years? and bo, keep your obscure stuff with female screamers to a minimal pal I didn't hear everything so I can't tell that these how far from the best, and probably it depends on one's taste, but I like them: Megadeth - The System Has Failed (2004) or United Abominations (2007). I like these a little more than the TH1RT3EN album. Lordi - Babez for Breakfast (2010) Monster Magnet - 4-Way Diablo (2007) System of a Down - Mezmerize (2005) I don't know if you would refer these as obscure stuff with female screamers, I don't think that they are obscure and the female singers definitely not screamers, cause they are actually sing, but not everybody likes them: Nightwish - Dark Passion Play (2007) Lacuna Coil - Shallow Life (2009) Within Temptation - The Silent Force (2004)

She is pretty epic! Oh and she can sing too.

Simone Simons of Epica. She is pretty epic! Oh and she can sing too. I totally agree! But I am torn apart because of the Epica. They are playing very good music, Simone Simmons is beautiful and sings beautiful. I just don't like the growling in any music. It goes to my nerves after a time. So I listen from them only the "The Score" album regularly, which is a symphonic soundtrack, not a metal album. I listen their other albums sometimes and I try to get used to it, but I can't really. Simone's voice gives me sometimes goosebumps, I would say she founds my musical G spot, and then the male singer (I don't know his name) ruins it.

I don't like their music overall but her voice is something else. I didn't bother listening to anything else after I heard 'The Divine Conspiracy' because this entire goth genre doesn't really appeal to me, however her voice on 'Chasing the Dragon' - yowza!! Of the others you mentioned I've heard all of them but I think Sharon Den Adel of Within Temptaion is probably the best of the lot. I didn't think it was humanly possible to reach the highest pitch that she can. Also I read a rumour that Cristina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil married Alexi from Bodom. Can anyone corroborate this? I want to manage their kid's career. #goldengenes

A good album worth checking out is the Times of Grace album "The Hymn of a Broken Man". It's basically a Killswitch Engage album really but for me better than the last few official Killswitch ones.

Oh and also James Labrie's solo stuff is awesome. Check out his last 2 albums Static Impulse and Impermanent Resonance. He's the Dream Theater vocalist for people who don't know but his solo stuff is quite different. It's more straight up metal with shorter, catchy songs and some growling backing vocals at times. It's really good.

Basically I think about these things quite simple. If I like it I listen it. And I like them all, so I don't really care if one of them is better than the other. I don't know about the rumours, but if this is true then Alexi is a lucky man.
