I still have faith in the lad, he is still young and he needs to learn a lot, but my first choice for now would be Lindegaard, although I rate highly DDG, Lindegaard seems more composed and has bin on the right place at the right time whenever needed.

I think you'd have struggled to find a keeper who would have saved those goals last night. That goal from Ba reminded me of the one Henry scored against us in 2000. The free-kick was a right belter.

Think Jimbo makes a good point though, simply one mistake made and people jump on a bandwagon. Both keepers are good. Is unfair the amount of shite De Gea has had up to now.

yeah i didn't mean to have a pop at lindegaard, just pointing out that good goalkeepers have been making mistakes this season. as paul says there might be a bit of bandwagon jumping going on

@ Jimbonda
Whats the attitude for?
I'm one of those who have expressed my concerns over De Gea, I didn't make my decision on a couple of howlers i've made my decision over a period of time. I haven't ruled him out of being a future number one at the club but for now he doesn't look anything near it.
Linders couldn't do a thing for either of the three goals last night, you could fault him for number three if you were being harsh. Lack of communication seems to be an issue when it comes to Jones and our goalkeepers. As for the first and second goal what could he have done, Ba caught the first goal so sweetly I don't think any keeper in the world would have stopped it. Cabaye goal was just a work of genius he stuck it right in the top corner.
I felt reassured with Linders in the net last night I wasn't as nervous as i'd usually be with De Gea in the sticks. I wonder who Fergie will opt to play on Sunday, De Gea being dropped could be the kick up the back side he's been looking for.

Well De Gea certainly has the quality to being the no 1 keeper in the world but against the big physical clubs he has not strength to battle for crosses and corners. He has to bulk up a bit for that. It was always said that this season is his adaptation season to the life in the premiere league so he was bound to make mistakes. Lindegaard should play against the physical teams while De gea should start against teams who keep the ball down and play football. Both are exceptional keepers. Its been a long time since united had 2 very good keepers.

Wether teams are physical or not their all going to to exploit him now, every team will have a big man standing in front of the keeper for corners.
If this guy is so raw then why wasn't he brought in as an understudy to VDS?
He's clearly not ready to be our number one.

@ Jimbonda Whats the attitude for? I'm one of those who have expressed my concerns over De Gea and i think people have been out of order, that's all my attitude is mate. i've seen someone call him a joke. Linders couldn't do a thing for either of the three goals last night, you could fault him for number three if you were being harsh. so it's harsh to criticise lindegaard for his lack of communication with jones? arguably he should have been screaming for that ball and taking control of his area. bet if it was De Gea you'd be blaming him.

We'll calling him a 'joke' is a harsh, even do i've probably screamed it at the screen. Throughout my comments in this thread i've always said that i'm not writing him off I just don't think he's ready to be number one.
Your right if that was De Gea who conceded the own goal I probably would of blaming him, i'm willing to give Linders the benefit of the doubt because he had actually read the ball whereas Jones decided to take it upon himself to head it away. I blame Jones for the situation, he had plenty of time to take a look where his keeper was positioned.

Sir Alex Ferguson insists David De Gea is still his long-term number one goalkeeper at Manchester United.
"De Gea is the long-term prospect, there is no question about that," Ferguson said. "Anders has done very well. He has provided tremendous opposition to David. But the potential of David is obvious''
"We have been leaving him (De Gea) out of games quite regularly," he said. "There has been a nice mix of opportunities for Anders Lindegaard, playing in Europe and some of the league games.
"Just because he (De Gea) has lost two bad goals against Blackburn doesn't mean that all of a sudden we are neglecting that part of both of them playing."
