Looks like Lindegaard is now the 1st choice keeper starting 3 games in a row something which he has not done in his United career. He looks a lot more assured coming out to catch crosses and punch them, something which is hugely lacking from De Gea.

Could be the 6 year age difference meaning Lindy has had 6 years extra experience and 6 years to learn from his early mistakes

Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard has insisted that he will attempt to remain as first choice at the club for the next ten years.
"David has extraordinary attributes. He's extremely explosive and powerful, and he's still only 21. His potential is massive and there's no doubt he will be United's best goalkeeper at some point," Lindegaard told The Mirror.
"My job is to make sure it is not until I have retired. Which is in ten years ... I think both David and myself have played well when we've been thrown into it, and it's obvious we both want to play every game."

Our defence seem visually more assured and confident with him in goal.

I would take 3 years of Lindegaard followed by 10 years of De Gea, no question!

When De Gea gets his eyes fixed , hell be alright. He has to be the long term no. 1.

I like Lindegaard, he seems like a nice guy and always speaks highly of the club and his rival, De Gea. I know that seems a small thing, but look at Almunia and Lehmann for an example of how Gks' rivalries can destabilise. And you can't tell me that a goalkeeper that is constantly on the bench doesn't resent the No1.
Still torn on this issue. I think Lindegaard is better right now, but I think De Gea is going to be one of the top top keepers around, so I want him to be our No1 to progress his development.
Bestie says he'd take 10 years of Lindergaard followed by 10 years of De Gea, and I know what he means, but putting Lindegaard as our No1, with De Gea making only the odd appearance, is going to end with De Gea leaving, or never realising his potential.
In a few years, Some fans are going to look back fondly on De Gea's early troubles and laugh. I just want that to be us lot, and not Barca's or Real's fans.

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea could undergo eye surgery at the end of the season.
The Spaniard, who is long-sighted, currently plays in contact lenses.
However, United's optometrist had advised the 21-year-old to have laser eye treatment at the end of the campaign.

Borussia Monchengladbach 3-1 Bayern Munich The clash between these two sides on the opening day of the season was decided by a mistake by Neuer on his Bayern debut and another of the Germany number one's all too frequent blunders gifted the home side the lead. He came out of his goal and made a poor clearance, delivering the ball to Reus, who provided a composed finish into the empty net from 35 yards. soccernet.espn.go.com/report?id=320882&cc=5901Just thought I'd start cataloging mistakes made by other top class keepers in the hope that people realize it's all part of the learning process. I mean...NEUER IS BRILLIANT, WHY DIDN'T WE SIGN HIM INSTEAD?

Did you listen to the audio clip on my link? Theres another keeper who plays in the PL wearing contact lenses. It happens. Might explain why he has been beaten when you would have thought he would save it. Hopefully the laser surgery will sort it out for him
