I should also add, Van De Gea is being outstanding far earlier than I ever would have predicted!

Been a big fan since his Athletico days !!!! Not surprised at his incredible superman shot stopping skills. He had to be with the defending of AM . GK is the last line of defence & invariably, errors are going to be more costly. Lindegaard has been lucky in that respect . He had a mare against Newcastle : one very poor kickout (easily as bad as DDG's against Basel), couple of flaps & an unconvincing punch too. none of them were punished. plus the horror show 2nd half against City. My point is, ppl have been over critical & unfair on a very young goalie. Anyway, DDG seems to have left Anders trailing in his wake with a string of phenomenal performances !! AL is a good No 2 , make no mistake about that. Thought for all those who did not see, DDG vs Barcelona

btw, it's really doing my head in with ppl blaming DDG for the FA cup defeat how ?? He was at fault ya, but so were the defenders in front of him. Even then we did manage to recover & score the equalizer. If anything, only Evra's to blame for the dippers's winner, and no one else. But then, what chance poor DDG has when he joined the ranks of fellow scapegoats Berbatov, Carrick n Evans

Finally got around to watching the Holland v Portugal match, and seeing Stekelenburg in goal for Holland made me realize how bang on Fergie got the De Gea decision this time last summer. While decent, Stekelenburg doesn't strike me as a world class keeper, Neuer has dropped some absolute changers in big matches for Bayern, and Akinfeev has been dropped by Russia. Notwithstanding a rough start, De Gea was massive for us in the latter stages, and you could see him becoming the best keeper in the world in the next few years. Well done us!

De Gea looks better every week. I said it after the community shield but the quality of his kicking is phenomenal and i expect him to finish the season with an assist. this was my prediction 6 months ago and i'm moving it over to this seasons preds. De Gea to finish the season with an assist. a big, accurate goal kick that puts someone through to score

Thought the same about the Dutchman, doesnt even look good never mind WC.Isnt Akinfeev injured though?

Gotta be De Gea because I can't take the embarrassment of wasting another £20 million!

De Gea's distribution is better, but other than that Lindegaard showed enough until his injury that he can claim the number 1 spot. Expect another big push from him next season.
The main issue is keeping them both happy.
I hate rotating keepers and defenders, though we've done pretty well with it the last 2 seasons. But I can't see how a keeper of Ander's calibre will be happy with cup games and the odd league start next season.

De Gea is now clearly the number 1. lindegaards injury was his opportunity and he took it, his form from that point on was excellent

Think he had a bit of a reality check around Christmas time and he's responded with the sort of performances a £20mill keeper should be producing. The sign of a top keeper, IMO.

I would start Lindegaard against Everton due to their aerial threat but De Gea is number 1 in my eyes.
