Who played against Everton at Old Trafford last season? Whomever it was, play the other one. Conceding 4 goals because your defense let you down could be soul-destroying. Apart from that, play the exact same team if we can. Let's get angry and seek redemption.

Fuck sake not a case of this thread being ignited again. Dropping de yea now would destroy the confidence which led him to having a cracking end to the season. UNTIL he makes a major fuck up I'd stick with him. Lindegaard is a quality keeper there's no doubt about that but this thread will start up again the moment one of them makes the smallest mistake then people will start questioning them again.

De Gea played against Everton and he, Evans and Rafael had absolute stinkers.Vida should deal with them a bit better and it looks like Fellaini is out with a groin strain.Though Jelavic remains a serious threat IMO.
Its not about dropping him, at present he still isnt very good dealing with aerial threats.Did you not see his shambolic punching attempts in the recent friendlies?Everton would murder him, especially at Goodison.

Do people really think this is still up for debate?

I regard him as our number 1 but dont fancy him against Everton.Lindegaard is better equipped for what Everton will throw at us.Horses for courses and all that.

Lindegaard was massively at fault for Hannover's 1st the other day. Poor shot stopper.

De Gea struggled hugely in this fixture last season only managing to keep a clean sheet.

De Gea. He might struggle, but he needs to feel the love. Give him a regular run out and see him blossom very quickly.

It really isn't up for debate. DDG has had his spell of difficulty but was fantastic at the end of the season. Europe's No 1 inside 4 years.

Even if De Gea had a difficult time, he needs to play and learn the curve. I'm still hoping he will grow fatter in the next year or two.

Lindegaard has started the last two games does anyone expect De Gea to play tomorrow night and at Anfield and if he doesn't , does this mean he is no longer our first choice keeper?

Maybe Fergie has him locked up between games and just force feeding De Gea... I hope.

Lindegaard has developed into the safe option. De Gea can be a liability although he also makes fantastic saves. All he needs is consistency and some muscles to be able to command his area better.
It will take some time. As well as his communication with the defenders. Lindegaard is older, more experienced and has the more commanding presence in the area that, for me, makes him our best option at this time.
De Gea will undoubtedly become our first choice goalkeeper. It's just a matter of time, and I hope he can take steps to fulfill that destiny during the course of this season.
