Looks like the chopping and changing is working a treat. Both Lindegaard and De Gea are in top form. Another fine performance in goal today. Long may it continue.

perhaps ginger but i don;t think that it will do any good to De Gea has it will only take longer for him to command his area and the defenders.

Fair point, but on evidence both are proving quite capable. De Gea is only 20. Getting him to work hard to win a starting berth early on in his career will only bode well for him in the future. Sir Alex knows what he is doing. Even though it may seem risky to us, he is getting the best out of both of them.

I don't doubt Fergie ( other than of course with today's team selection) on the GK , i just feel that the point of him being cos he made a mistake and then after the Champs lge game where IMO he was brilliant is not right. Lindergaard could have played in the mid week cup match against Newcastle.
If De gea doesn't get to learn how to cope in these game now when then- the same goes for Clevs, Buttner Powell.
If you drop them for making mistakes then reward them by playing when they are good and De Gea Was in Chmps lge

Yeah De Gea could have played today. But remember it was him Liverpool targeted last year when Agger scored from the corner. Maybe that was playing on Sir Alex's mind. No doubt he has got better since then. He'll definitely get to play in many big games this season, I wouldn't worry about lack of opportunities.

i know i think a lots being played on fergie's mind when its this game. he just seems to want to pick a side that essentially won't loose and go for a draw. Maybe wrong in judgement but i felt the same way last year too , that he was going more for the draw ( at city as well) rather than a win with the previous results in mind . That just ain't us

True. But I don't know if playing De Gea would have changed that. We played more or less our best team today. I would have started Scholes ahead of Giggs, but he probably wasn't 100% fit after 2 consecutive games. Vidic's absence is still a complete mystery though!

about Vidic - yes. i don't buy into that rehabilitation shit.. think it could be that since he's got RC 3 times either that or he's tweaked his knees again.

That Mrs. Lindegaard is a doll. But I'm a sucker for brunettes.
*Gazes fancifully into the distance.*
Anyway! Anders was good today, strong, assured, dealt with everything he could well. As I've said before, I trust him not to drop a clanger more than I do of DDG.

Well we have to face it that we have 2 great goalies, but I would always prefer De Gea instead of Lindegaard, De Gea saves imposible ones.

De Gea has one of the best reflexes in the game, which makes him a great shot stopper when against seemingly unstoppable shots. This plus his natural acrobatic and aerial ability. Lindergaard's reflex standard are what most PL goalkeepers have. But Lindergaard's stronger, and I believe, more vocal, confident in taking balls and picking himself up. I think I'm fine with both of them taking turns to start, but I get edgy about constantly changing goalkeepers. I do the same in FM, I rotate keepers to keep them happy - although I usually split the game time 60% - 40%... but obviously that's just a game.

I usually play my back-up 'keeper in Pokal games and just enough to make sure he can get a medal if we win the League. More if we wrap it up early.
