The thing with De Gea is he's more prone to errors as well. So while he might save our necks, he might concede a silly one as well. Can't fault Lindegaard for any goal really. Probably the third as he palmed it right back into the area, but I'd hold the defence culpable for not being within 10 yards of Dempsey on that one.

i think Anders was really made open today thanks to no one having a pair to put a tackle in.
A LB marauding forward to score , another LW running 10 yards into the box with anyone even near him , he did the best he could. The only thing and this i say with tinted glasses is that De GEa could have probably saved or rolled onto stop the 3rd one

I had half a post written previously about last match where Lindegaard palmed a save straight back toward the penalty spot that fortunately went to a defender. I'd thought that a mistake but deemed it maybe harsh. Did it again today and we werent so lucky.

De Gea has the better reflexes and shot stopping, he would have saved us from 2 out of 3 shots that we conceded yesterday. There were two instances where Lindegaard misjudged the flight of the ball and couldn't adjust to make the save.
I'm not calling for Lindegaard's head at all, just stating that De Gea has the better set of reflexes. Maybe instead of blindly rotating them, we should play them each to the main threat from the opposition team i.e. Aerial threats = Lindegaard; all others = De Gea.

Or...how about we just play our best keeper in all the games that matter (league and European Cup) and the back up gets the games that don't.

I also cant help but feel that DeGea might have saved one of those goals with his reach.Another mistake fergie made along with playing giggs.

This really is becoming an amateur situation.
When has keeper rotation ever worked? It's probably harsh but I also feel De Gea would have gotten a hand to Bale's goal, but I was fuming since he reached 20m away from goal untouched so that opinion was formulated in a very Foster-esque state of panic.

de gea all day to me on this one, i think he is a slightly better keeper now, and with the age difference longterm he will be far better. fergie is getting this one wrong.

To everyone saying De Gea would have gotten to one or even two of the Spurs goals, catch yourselves on. Bale's finish was right in the side of the net, shooting acros the 'keeper and Dempsey's was because Ferdinand doesn't have the cojones to put a player in the stands when he has to. Bale lashed that shot at Lindegaard, he did well to keep it out at all, nevermind where it ended up. It isn't like Lindegaard had an oppurtunity to push it elsehwere, again it was with power and going across him. Unless the goalkeeper (any goalkeeper) in that situation somehow holds onto the ball, it's being parried into the 6 yard box.
There are a lot of misty-eyes for De Gea because he isn't playing, but the fact is when he does play it's a case of always waiting for the next flap. There is too much ball in the air into the box in the Premier League for a Manchester United goalkeeper not to be able to come for a cross. I watch De Gea in the warm up and he is just a stick figure, and he ain't tall enough to get away with that like Edwin did.
Lindegaard is solid, straight up the middle. 7/10. A bit of consistency in the defence wouldn't be the worst thing. De Gea's time will come, but he doesn't have the presence yet.

I think it's more a case of that's the strongest element of De Gea's game. Shot from outside the box. Lindegaard almost got a hand to it and one can only assume, since his reflexes are tad quicker, De Gea might have gotten a finger or two on it. Lindegaard was by no means bad, as you say 7/10, just though the Bale shot across the keeper could have been kept out.
Water under the bridge though, annoying and unnecessary debate; we should be sticking with one keeper.

This rotation has to stop, there is probably a reason that no other top club does it. De Gea was bought to be our No.1 keeper for a long time, stick with him and he'll come good. He's more prone to make an error with high balls/corners at the moment but he's also more likely to pull off a ludicrous save that might win us a game - it balances itself out. No disrespect to Lindegaard but if we make a mess of this situation, De Gea will be in barcelonas goal soon....

Just read this comment by Rooney on BBC regarding Joe Hart's performance in the Dortmund match: "Have to say joe hart has been incredible. For me best keeper in the world."
Wonder how De Gea or Lindegaard would feel about this.

^ I'd rather they want to prove something and drive them to improve their game.

Fair comment Tommy. I'd probably tend to agree with Rooney actually, but if we played our best keeper consistently and let him work himself out he'd be the world's number one within 3 years.
