Shaka Hislop just named the 5 best keepers in the world, had Courtois as number 1 and absolutely no mention of De Gea. I usually like the guy but he predicted De Gea wasn't ready when he first signed and has just about never mentioned him since.
De Gea has literally only made one mistake all season. No other keeper can say that.

DDG is two attributes away from being a complete 'keeper, he's that close already. I just worry it won't come, and in the meantime we will suffer for his learning curve. Well. I was wrong.

No De Gea in the team of the year? Mental. He's been the standout keeper in the league by some distance. He's the only top drawer keeper in the premier league now. Cech is good enough, but not top class. Hart overrated due to being English. Szscenzy (?) is decent, as is Mignolet but you wouldn't call either a worldy. Llrois I like, but De Gea is better. The likes of Krul and Guzan are solid enough keepers but you wouldn't have them at a top team.

No De Gea in the team of the year? Is it? Who is the keeper then? Cech. Most clean sheets this season, so hard to argue. But I will, because De Gea has been immense this season. Really stepped up from promising 'kid' to superb goalkeeper.
