(In case you're wondering, De Gea's best is the one below ...) They are both good saves and people could make arguements for both. However, I still think you're reading too much into the fact the MoTD one was against the vermin.

I'm becoming conflicted really as Schmiecheal is my favorite goal keeper ever but I can see De God being better.... do i want such feels? Allow De Gea the opportunity. Open your heart to David. Let him in. He is warm and fuzzy. You won't regret it.

I still reckon the Sunderland save was his best this season, Giaccherini was off and running because he thought it was in. Incredible save, and at full-stretch too.

I think the Sunderland save could be advocated as better, since DdG has to REALLY stretch to keep it out and, for a header, it has great power. either way, ./peace

David de Gea has become a symbol for Manchester United fans of what's good about their club. Even when the team was falling around the goalkeeper's ears, he just kept on putting good performances in. However, the fans had taken to him earlier than that.
The savage and, in retrospect, incredibly embarrassing words from many journalists and pundits could have destroyed De Gea before he had chance to even settle in England. Manchester United fans immediately felt that after the poor treatment he was one of theirs and still to this day take great pleasure in reminding people like Paddy Barclay how wrong they were... even if now, even more embarrassingly, he denies much of the criticism.
De Gea grew up a big Atletico Madrid fans so it was hard for him to leave the club to join Manchester United. Spanish newspaper AS have asked the footballer if it's true that he even cried "Yes, I'd had a lifetime in the club and it was difficult. Manchester was a train that you should not pass up and I am very happy with the decision."
The Spanish press used to badger De Gea about a return to La Liga in every interview he gave, feeling that the treatment he got in England must have left him unhappy and wanting to go home. As he's got more respect within the Premier League, and from those reporting on it, those questions have dried up somewhat.
AS asked the goalkeeper what he thought of rumours Manchester United wanted to hire his national boss Vicente del Bosque, he cleverly skipped through that by saying he'd read the reports and was happy in the Spanish squad. De Gea also said the usual stuff about being thrilled to be at the World Cup, happy to be learning from Iker Casillas, and also that the rainy training weather he's experienced is just like Manchester... and that's just fine for him.

www.football365.com/news/21554/9347574/De-Gea-Welcomes-LVG-To-Wondrous-EnglandDe Gea, 23 and currently part of Spain’s World Cup squad in Brazil, established himself as the number one at Old Trafford under both Sir Alex Ferguson and David Moyes. Spain clash with Van Gaal’s Netherlands in their Group B opener in Salvador de Bahia on Friday and De Gea has part of his mind set on what pre-season will be like under the current Dutch head coach. He said: "He has won everything as a coach. He’s very good and I think he's going to bring a lot to Manchester United. “He will bring important and innovative ideas and I think he's going to be very good for us. He's going to help us a lot because he's going to bring a different style of play. "England is a great place to play football, the fans respect you a lot. It's wondrous."
As Spain’s third-choice keeper, De Gea is unlikely to come up personally against Netherlands striker Robin van Persie in their opening World Cup game. But De Gea revealed he has been discussing the game with his United team-mate. "I've sent him the odd message. He's a great player and we'll have to follow him closely. I hope that he has a quiet game,” he said. Love this guy!

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere recently that Reina is in the squad mainly as he's good for morale. So, a cheerleader basically.
