Finally some activity in RoM. Everyone asleep today?
New contract for DDG is a no brainer.

Ed can be our hero again just like last summer just by tying this kid down to a very long contract \0/
TBH I wish there wasn't all this talk about Valdes - stuff like that will only make Shaggy feel a bit insecure and unsettle him
Tell him he's our number 1 for the next 10 years and pay him whatever it takes

Deal works out to ~140k a week which is not much for a top 3 player in his position. Heck, I'd have no qualms putting him in the bracket of our top earners..

De Gea will be the face of United - outside England - for years to come. No reason to cheap out on a future ballon d'or winner.

Most important deal we can make in the next ten windows Indeed, we learnt a sharp lesson when Schmeichel went. I think Fergie underestimated how vital a top class goalie was, for a while at least. Outfield players are much more replaceable, or at least theres bigger room in the squad to actually have some depth to mitigate the effect. It's vital we tie him down, I'd easily put him in the 150k a bracket.

Exactly - outfield players are adaptable and one player can cover quite a few positions - you only have one keeper on the field - if he's world class you look after him

if the talks of the new wage and contracts are true, i'd say he can have that and anything he asks for. A Top Goalie like him is an absolute must.
Best Xmas gift- De GEa siging a new 10 year contract
