I've not been to a gym for 20 years or more but I'm thinking of starting up. I average 8-10 miles a day at work walking, so I'm pretty fucked when I get home. I just need to get up and do it!
I'm 46 next week and although I've lost 2 stone recently, I've put 4lbs back on and I'm fucking fuming with myself. Damn you crisps and salted KP nuts.
I'm currently 12 st 4lbs and six ft tall. Looking to get to 11.5st. I see all these young lads on the steds and im really not interested in bulking out, just getting trim.

The company I work for have thousands of these apartments going up around town, so I'm constantly on the move! I'm off to do some googling for Tabata training now, thanks for the advice man, appreciate it. I'm gonna be doing more walking tomorrow in the lakes. Heading for a place called Ennerdale. Get some more miles under the belt!

TBH, I didnt think I was overweight until the doctor said my cholesterol was really high. He told me to change my diet or I would be on statins very soon. Hence the weight loss. Had to bin four pairs of fucking levi's too 😵

Get some more miles under the belt! Love the Lake District. Haven't been in ages and I miss it. As for weight loss, can highly recommend HIIT, Tabata, and lifting. If you have time and the money book yourself some personal trainer time. I'm currently doing three half an hour PT sessions a week, with football training once and a match on Saturdays. It's in a gym 'studio' i.e. you only go for your sessions. Takes me 45 mins/an hour all in for a workout and travel. Three months in. Just dropped the cardio in my PT sessions due to the football season starting. Got for inches off my waist in the first two months, 1 point off my visceral (belly) fat and Body mass index down a couple of points as well. It's 70% nutrition, so eat properly and the body shape will come. Good on you and good luck bud!

Im no expert or nutritionist so any advice would be great. this is my usual daily eating routine
10am - seasoned (Chinese 5 spice or Salt n Pepper) chicken breast, broccoli and sprouts.
2pm - seasoned (Chinese 5 spice or Salt n Pepper) chicken breast, noodles, broccoli and baby corn
6ish - tea - typical tea; meat/Fish, veg, potatoes of some variety - usually sweet potatoes, or Curry/chilli and rice or Pasta
snacks: yoghurt, nuts, fruit.
supplements: CLA's, BCAA's, L-Carnitine, Cod Liver Oil with Vit D.
finally got in the routine of it and meal prep is easy for the week depending on what shifts im on.

Cut out as much as possible red meats, potatoes, pasta and dairy. Low fat yoghurt without loads of added sugar/sweeteners is okay. No sugary sauces! Red/brown etc. Spicy e.g. Habanero or tabasco are fine. Low salt soy sauce is good too. Try to get in the habit of making lunch your 'big' meal of the day rather than dinner. Dinner should be proteins and veg. Have your carbs e.g. sweet potatoes/brown rice with lunch. I've a food list from my PT if you want me to upload it?

Cheers guys. Love the tips. Just arrived in Keswick to typical lake district weather!! Grey and wet.
A guy at work has been using a PT instructor and the results are phenomenal. He's totally transformed himself. I'll post my hot sauce recipe when I get home. It's delicious. And no shit in it. All good stuff. Certainly animates rice and chicken!

Bestie, if you are thinking of a trip to the lakes, I highly recommend this place... www.lowthwaiteullswater.comJim and Tine are incredible hosts and the area is beautiful. They are very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and will recommend hikes suitable to your ability. And the food is out of this world. Check it out on trip advisor, I've not come across reviews like this place often. Sadly we couldn't get in this weekend.

First thing anyone should do if you want to drop weight is quit or significantly cut down alcohol intake. I drink 1 beer a week and really look forward to it, but dropped 5kg since quitting booze in March.
Can’t recommend getting a PT enough, too. I’ve had one for the last 3 years. Admittedly, different ones and I’ve gone down from 115kg to 93kf.
