It's becoming embarrassing. Especially because it's the first goal and completely changes the game. Not to mention the fact that it was a penalty anyway, there really was no need for it, and I'm starting to dislike Young.

I'm starting to dislike Young. I was concerned that our own fans would start to turn on him after a while if he kept it up... Not the United way.

he was caught but my gosh why does he have to go down like that, rather than people talking about tthe fact out of the 90 mins we attacked them hard for about 75 mins they are talking about youngs theatrics. he needs to cut that out asap.

At least this one he was caught, theres no need for these "professional" footballers to continuously make a meal of it, if you gonna go down go down but dont do 3 cartwheels and a summersault on the way fuck me Ash. As ive said before in this thread, hes a good player so why the fuck does he need to add simulation to it. I said in the villa thread I dont want us to win with a dubious penalty and low and behold what happens. Fucking shocker.
Even Fergie admitted he make a meal of it. In the case have a fucking word. We dont need to give other fans more ammo to throw at us. Id rather lose the league title than win it through cheating. Do we look like Chelsea or Liverpool? Hell no its not our way of doing things so id rather not start now.

Dan, I'm saying that diving is not the United way - not that turning on a United player that dives is not the United way. We're in agreement I believe, I just wasn't clear.

I thought you said that me criticising Young was not the United way. And turning against your own players isn't cool, but there comes a point when you need to stop defending the indefensible.

Against Everton id be playing nani anyway. I think young can be a fantastic player. But over the past couple of weeks ive not seen anything thats made me think like that. Hes constantly cutting inside (something other players are noticing). Think fergie should start Nani on the left and give him a chance.

I'd start with Nani also. Take Ashley off the frontline for a bit.

Ashley Young's grasp of the dark arts were well discussed in the thread when we were linked to signing him. So we knew what we were in for. Don't forget he won more peanlties than anyone last season at Villa, and a few of those were 'dubious' so he's already got the rep.
Hopefully it's something we have a word with him about.

i think we are right to criticise young 'in-house' as it were,
but the papers can fuck off with their indignation about him, they are claiming because he's english and of the culture we should hold it in a different light to the likes of drogba and suarez who's cheating is 10 leagues above youngs, but where was all this criticism for steven gerrard who's taken a tumble on more than one occasion? even gareth bale got an easy ride off the press this season when he said he'd be willing to hit the deck.
plus Ferguson has refused to defend the penalty against villa and admitted it was theatrical which sets him apart from every other manager in the league when they are asked if their player dived, which indicates that we won't be putting up with it. (as if that was ever in doubt after ronaldos improvement in that department and our record in general as a club)
the press and the authorities can fuck right off, both should have come down harder on the diving and simulation much earlier on.

Ferguson gives a more honest assessment than pretty much any manager would give in this situation (think of some of Dalglish's comments on Suarez for a stark contrast) and yet people are still all over him acting like he was defending Young just because he "put it politely". What do they expect him to say? "Ashley Young is a fucking cheating cunt"? I seem to remember Adam Johnson doing pretty much the same thing against Fulham a couple of months ago and it was barely mentioned after the game. I know Young's done it twice in a row but the likes of Suarez do it every chance they get. There's always an overreaction when it's United as people try to further the theory that there's some big conspiracy and that's why we've won the most in the last 20 years. A lot of ABUs still can't come to terms with the fact that we've been the best team, and we're not just a gang of horrible cheats stopping good, honest teams like Liverpool winning the league.
