i think we are right to criticise young 'in-house' as it were, but the papers can fuck off with their indignation about him, they are claiming because he's english and of the culture we should hold it in a different light to the likes of drogba and suarez who's cheating is 10 leagues above youngs, but where was all this criticism for steven gerrard who's taken a tumble on more than one occasion? even gareth bale got an easy ride off the press this season when he said he'd be willing to hit the deck. plus Ferguson has refused to defend the penalty against villa and admitted it was theatrical which sets him apart from every other manager in the league when they are asked if their player dived, which indicates that we won't be putting up with it. (as if that was ever in doubt after ronaldos improvement in that department and our record in general as a club) the press and the authorities can fuck right off, both should have come down harder on the diving and simulation much earlier on. Spot on mate

if you go in for a tackle and dont even get a graze on the ball and even slighty touch the man instead, you run the risk
you need to be 100% wen even thinking about a challenge. even if you pull out of a challege you run the risk of looking like not being sure of making that challenge in the first place which is a mistake and mistakes = penaltys or freekicks it is what seperates good defenders from shit ones i.e reading the game (ferdi at blackburn)
dont remember anyone saying anything about ben arfa going down when ferdinands perfect challenge got the ball did it help us no
and the ref still gave newcastle a pen

What will happen is that Young will be cleaved in an important game and get nothing. exactly. not only is it embarrassing and drags the name of our club down a notch, but im sure one day it will cost us. what happens if we need to score at sunderland to win the league, young gets brought down in the dying minuets of the game and no penalty? herd from red issue theres a chance that he could be gone in summer, a bust up with fergie a few months ago questioning his attitude. how true this is, i dont know

Andy Carroll vs Newcastle anyone? Slight mention at the time but nothing since. Now that WAS a dive.... Sure was. As for Suarez, he makes Young look like a novice when it comes to diving....!! What annoys me is holier-than-thou opposing fans who undoubtablely have taken the moral high ground in preaching about Young, how he deserves to be condemned... ...when probably half their squad have been at it for donkeys years, the Scousers being a prime example, your Luis Suarez's, Andy Carroll's and Dirk Kuyt's...

Fuck it, I've said before that going down under no contact is cheating and anyone doing it should be fined and banned, but going down after you've been given a kick/touch/push, is different, it's exagerating and might not be morally right, but if refs started giving correct fouls, like when someone gets a push but manages to stay up, instead of thinking "Duuhhh, him still standing, no free kick here, keep play ball" then players will have no need to go down under slight touches. Refs have brought this upon themselves, they cannot grasp the simple logic that you can be fouled and still remain on your feet, so players have started thinking "Fuck it, from now on I'm going down despite being able to stand, otherwise I'll never get a decision, and shitty defenders will keep getting away with fouling me".

Mate, what's the matter with you? Don't you know that Ashley Young is the most morally bankrupt player ever to play the game and his constant and blatant cheating is the only reason we have won anything...ever? If he were only half as honest as the good 'ol boys at the people's club down the road *sniff* bless 'em, all would be right in planet football. The way they've only spent a couple bejillion pounds on players salaries is an example to us all, and the pains they've taken to stick to their principles over Tevez, especially when the pressure was on, just makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Perhaps if City didn't have so much of the moral high ground, cheats like Ashley "scumbag of the season" Young might stand a chance.

@ Tommy Red
What did Neville say?
Didn't get a chance to see it.

@ eric - It was basically exactly that there can be a legitimate foul, but at the same instance a player can "dive" under the commonly used definition i. e. Going down easily. Nev went on to point out a whole bunch of 'dives' where there was a genuine foul involved. Or fouls were players had gone down easy, if you know what I mean. Fouls were given. He also said that it hasn't just cropped up, it's been an issue for 20 years. Since foreign players started coming in and changing the style of football and diluting the old English traditions.
Was really good. People immediately jumped on him and said he was condoning diving (ABUs have been waiting to lynch him for something) but he came right out after he heard that and said he didn't.

As much as I want to be able to defend it, I can't. He cheated. And just like I would slaughter any other player from any other team for cheating, I will do so here. Cut it out Ash, you're embarrassing the club. How do you think Fergie feels when he has to step in front of the camera and try to defend the indefensible.
Sure, there was contact, but he looked for it and made the most of it with a pathetic dive. And that's not to say he's the worst for it, others dive far more frequently, though few rival his theatrics. But he's a United player, so as far as I'm concerned he might as well be the worst at it, because i couldn't care less about other teams.

Fuck off he cheated. It was a clear pen, your man Clark caught his right foot as Young changed direction, it's clear a bloody day. The flailing swan flight wasn't necessary, but it was definitely a foul.
"Cheat", come off it.

If Young is a cheat then a new word needs to be invented for Suarez, Carroll and the entire Barcelona team so
