If Young is a cheat then a new word needs to be invented for Suarez, Carroll and the entire Barcelona team so Harsh. I'd only label Busquets and Alves as serial cheats. Every team has at least one or two.

Ok, maybe the "entire team" is harsh, but given the amount of fawning and wanking over them it might as well be the entire team.

Diving is certainly in his locker, he done it quite a lot at Villa too.
Suarez cheats at every opportunity, every challenge, if he is not backing in or holding on he throws himself on the ground, he really is the most despicable player I`ve seen.
Barcelona are a different kettle of fish altogether, to me, their play-acting, card waving and diving is instructed and therefore on a whole new level of disrepute.

People seem to be confusing 'cheating' and 'going down easily'.
Young was caught, he went down with the contact.
For me its a penalty, I don't agree with him going down so easily but there was contact.
Its a part of the modern game, get use to it. As Neville said its been around for 20 years, I don't know why everyone is getting into a frenzy about it.

They draw a lot of hatred for being successful. I think most of our resentment stems from the fact that they are quite simply unplayable most of the time. Can't help but feel a tinge of sympathy for them. Reminds me of the whole ''stand up if you hate Man U'' thing.

Not really.
Id understand it if the Stokes, Wolves, etc of the football world did it to try and gain abit of an advantage, given that they are shite.
But when a team that is supposed to be the "Best Ever" and can beat anyone at anytime does it? Then their name should be tarnished just as much as ours supposedly is by Young making the most of what was - by definition - a definite foul.

Every team has at least one or two. Pedro, Sanchez, Pique (handball is cheating, yes?), Puyol leads the remonstrations with referees, Xavi, even little angel Messi (yes, he dives and complains and 'goes over easily' just as much as anyone else. I know, the media and some won't let you believe it but it's true). Barcelona are the worst collective group of cheats, conmen, and anti-football wankers I have ever seen. Which is a shame, because their football in the final third is incredible and they don't really need the theatrics and general scummery. Essentially what SET said, except more of a rant. And they don't really have the Lawrenson's and Redknapp's (really bitter, jealous tossers) who speak out against them because so many of the players are in the national team. It's just chap, fap, splurge over the pure white, wonderous, innocent Barca. As for Young, well it wasn't a dive. Anyone with any sense or eyes can tell you that. He was caught. Shouldn't have taken off like a Lear juet, but doesn't matter. A foul is a foul.

It's just chap, fap, splurge over the pure white, wonderous, innocent Barca. Still doesn't warrant excessive criticism for me. They do what every other team does. No more, no less. Yes, the whole 'Mes que un club' propaganda was a bit over the top but they dont deserve to be chastised for it. Their success has led to this 'cheats' tag. Even you admitted - their football is so good that they dont need theatrics. Truth is, when things are going against you, all teams need to resort to theatrics and do. We can sit on our high horse and pretend it shouldn't/doesn't happen. Take a look at how Real have tried to combat Barca's passing game over the last few seasons with unscrupulous tactics. Pepe's stamp on Messi's hand immediately comes to mind. That, in my opinion is more 'cheating' than what Barca do, but it won't be highlighted because they haven't nearly been as successful. And success breeds jealousy. As for Messi - he does dive as well and has been booked for it in the past, but for the most part he attempts to stay on his feet. Take a look at this - www.101greatgoals.com/gvideos/gary-nevilles-excellent-analysis-on-diving-monday-night-football-april-16-2012/Completely agree with Neville on this. Its a very fine line between trying to gain advantage and cheating. Sorry mods for going off topic. I'm liking this debate though. Healthy!

No, "being touched on the shoulder and rolling around clutching your face as if you have been punched" warrants excessive critcism.
Constantly going to up the ref waving an imaginary card (which should result in a booking but never does for their players) trying to get your opponents sent off - warrants excessive criticism.
Being crucified for making the most of what was, essentially, a foul - doesnt.

Ah. Busquets over does it. You have one of those in every team. As for the card waving - same. Everyone does it.

People's defence of Young is quite embarrassing. He's done this far too often for him not to be labelled a cheat. There are various levels of cheating, sure, but deliberately sticking your leg out to win a penalty (in other words conning the referee to gain an unfair advantage over fellow professionals) makes you a cheat.
I actually think the Villa one was a penalty and that there was just no need for theatrics. But look at the evidence guys, Young is a cheat and needs to stamp it out.

Every team has at least one or two. If there's a pattern, there's nothing wrong with calling it what it is - cheating. I'm not saying that Young is the only one that does it, or is worse than anyone else. What I said was that because he plays for the team I support, it might as well be the worse. I don't give a shit about Barca, but I want our players to have a bit more dignity.

I really couldn't care less about our players dignity. What pisses me off about this is the fact that it's nailed on for one of our players to be halfed in the penalty area at City and we won't get anything. Then people will say it's evening it out. Then it hurts us, then I care. Our players aren't holier than anyone elses, whether we'd like to think it or not. Dzeko did the same thing as Young against Sunderland, actually there was less contact and it was barely mentioned. Gerrard has been at it for years. It's Utd, it's a big story.
