I would fucking LOVE Kagawa here. Immense talent, good head. He doesnt get as much publicity as Mario because he's not as German as Mario G. But he has been just as if not more important for their 2 titles.
Also, buying a winner and someone who clearly could have helped tonight. A David Silva type player, but Asian.

We will probably change the formation next season, or at least hopefully.

Does that article say we have no interest in buying Kagawa because he wouldn't be value? I'm just presuming. . .

The article has some very nonsensical points which have been made just to fill space. Since when did scoring against Bayern become the requisite criteria to be known as a player who doesnt go missing for the big games. What about the time when Kagawa carried BD through the season when Gotze was injured? I think he had a big mid season , forget big game. Some valid points are there though, regarding his potential alpha male personality and wanting to shoot rather than pass. We need someone to pass AND shoot as an when required, not favour one above the other or compromise on for the other. But I don't think its something Fergie can't instil in him is it? I dunno, I just know have massive admiration for Kagawa....

Glaring article there, doesnt make me want him at all. Unless of course we're changing our formation but even then we're likely to play Rooney in his role if I read that correctly?

Having read it, it does make some decent points. I could have told you a couple of them, like Kagawa's liking for a shot, for example. But to be honest, we need a player like that through the middle. We don't have a player, bar Young occasionally, who will just put up a good shot if the chance presents itself. Rooney always tries that pansy side-foot placement shit, and Nani isn't exactly consistent. Carrick could, but I think it's been beaten out of him. Reckon it'd also be nice to see a player who is a little selfish at times. Ronaldo was and that's why he was so effective against the lower sides, I think anyway. Sometimes you just need a player to decide he's scoring today and ain't nothing, including his teammates, getting in his way. So you can put a positive spin on it.
Same sort of thing, we need more goals from midfield. Apparently we are shit at creating chances for out strikers but all three main forwards have double figures. Even Berba who has hardly played almost has 10. Yet I think our total goals from midfield is about 10 put together.
I find the comparison to Anderson very interesting though, never thought of it that way. I was very excited when we went and got Ando, saw him as a real next big thing but we muffled/stymied him early on. Same thing happened to Carrick really, he was a rangy, marauding, attacking midfielder for West Ham and Spurs but we made him sit deep. It'd be a shame to see us stifling another good attack-minded young player really, though there might be a switch to a kind of 4-3-3 next season if we bring in the right players., a la Judas Cunt-Rooney-Ronaldo.
The 'big game bottler' tag was put around Ronaldo's neck, and even Messi was being questioned when he couldn't seem to score against English opposition. It's an easy put down for any good player. Might be right, might not. If Kagawa comes in and only scores 15 goals against lower league oppo , I reckon we could rely on Rooney, Welbeck and Hernandez to chip in with goals against the big boys to be honest. Like I said, we need more goals from midfield at some point!
Good read of an article, wouldn't put me off getting the guy in because the deal looks tailor-made for us, but certainly raises some interesting thoughts.

Yeah, Kagawa at 15 mil would be an absolute bargain buy and worth any risk that seems apparent.
Also, I don't buy into the big game bottlers thing. There's a reason certain great players ''don't perform'' against the bigger teams. Tey're exactly that, better teams. That and the fact that they're high profile player's who have likely attracted the attention of the opposing team in terms of nullifying them tactically.

Kagawa or Sigurdsson are both a good shout I think, more so Sigurdsson having already played in the PL. Both could become the goal scoring midfielder we've been longing for!

Rumours that Kagawa deal is edging closer and apparently we've agreed an £8mil deal. He has publicly criticised Ledanowski though

£8 million for Kagawa?! That's impossible. No way could we ever get someone like him for that amount. If that's real, and if I was Fergie - I'd snap off their hands right now for that amount.

Hmm, considering Ozil and Khedira both went for €15 million and Marin has cost Chelsea £7m~ I don't think it'll be too much higher than £8m, maybe around the £12m mark?
