Can't remember the last assist he made and in basically what, 6 years he's been here he's only ha d one or two consistent years as a starter and I don't remember him having many assists the. I mean he's much more likely to cut in and have a shot than put a cross in. I have trouble believing only those 4 have had more than him. He does though, so maybe you should accept you have some misconceptions. Even in the years where he wasn't shit hot or starting regularly he contributes plenty. I've brought this up time and again in the him and Tony V comparisons, you'd expect a player like Tony who hugs the touchline and crosses it to have a lot higher assists than him. He simply doesn't though. Nani is just way more likely to put it on a plate, Tonys more hit and hope. In regards to some of the other players mentioned, it is from Nani time here, so Silva has only been here 2 years for example. Bale, at least in the last couple of years, was not directly creative. Really not many assists, though that says a bit about the rest of the Spurs squad, probably. Hes been more of a flashy goal scorer. which makes me wonder if Real are actually better off with him than Ozil, but thats for another thread. Anyway back on to Nani, I remember a year or two back there was a bit of a myth about him being much worse on the left, when you actually looked at the stats and performances, the difference was negligible. It the last couple of years we've just rarely had him and Tony V both fit and firing at the same time so the situation hasn't really arisen. So I'm not fussed, just get Kagawa Nani and RvP on the pitch plus who ever is in most form out of the rest. I care less about positions than getting the right players and giving them some freedom.

I revised my opinions after looking at some stats. Although almost half his assists came in one season he has a lot of them. I have to mention though, Giggs has 40 more assists than Lampard in second place and they only started keeping assist stats after he was playing for 10 years. Incredible. Exactly why Bale is overrated, assists are as important as goals but Madrid value their goals twice as much as their assists.

Not worried about left wing really. Rooney or Welbeck coming in from there to accomodate Kagawa in the middle is harsh on Danno particularly but has to be done. Nani came on last night and made a difference for Portugal at Windsor. What do you mean by this? You don't care who we play on the left wing? I mean that when talking about Nani/Valencia on the right wing, I'm thinking about one position. Not bothered about what goes on on the other side of the pitch. If Nani is playing on the right, then he can't physically be playing on the left at the same time. Understand where I'm coming from?

I don't think any player has left me feeling so frustrated wearing a United shirt. He has talent oozing out of his nostrils, but he just become the player he should have
One of the positives of Moyes coming in is a fresh chance for those players you fancy might have been on their way out if Ferguson had stayed on. I'm thinking Rooney, Anderson and Nani in particular. I wasn't expecting this Nani contract news, but I am happy about it, it's a statement of faith for a player that trades highly on confidence. It'd be great to see him regularly getting a position in the starting line up, and see what he does with it. It befuddles me that wide positions should be a mighty strength given the talent we have at the club, and yet last season and so far this, it's anything but

Check out @sdholcroft's Tweet: God damnit Nani. Can you please just decide if you are shit or good and stick with it? He's probably thinking if he'd done that a few times in the last 6 years he'd still be playing for the greatest club in the world

Check out @sdholcroft's Tweet: God damnit Nani. Can you please just decide if you are shit or good and stick with it? What a stunner!! Always liked him but he could frustrate to boiling point. Glad he's still on our books, he might bring some well needed competition to the squad in the summer.

Check out @sdholcroft's Tweet: God damnit Nani. Can you please just decide if you are shit or good and stick with it? That was amazing. He should stay where he is though. It's going well for him. Don't think coming back here will benefit him.

Check out @sdholcroft's Tweet: God damnit Nani. Can you please just decide if you are shit or good and stick with it? Just seen that on Facebook. Good on the lad. But he is better off staying where he is. No good coming back too United, LVG would have him playing L/B and confuse him again.

Our wingers are playing so well there is no place for him in the team. Well, none of them are actually playing as wingers. Or playing well.

I'd take him back tomorrow, be great to see another player who likes to run at defenders have it coached out of him
