Super Jess.
If any of these African distance runners are thinking about future asylum claims in the UK they had better not beat Mo.
Greg Rutherford just took the Gold in the long jump.

Jess Ennis was so impressive, you just knew she'd power to win at the end. 2 golds in 20mins, a good evening so far

Strangely, I was incredibley "Meh." about the Olympics for the entire build up ever since it was announced London would host it. Didn't even care while I was watching the opening ceremony in a bar in Italy last weekend.
But this week, as it's gone on and with all the coverage, I've been subtly sucked into the passion and furore of it all. Been watching most of the event on Beeb throughout the days and was shouting at the telly like a United game for Ennis and Ginge-jumper and Mo this evening. Awesome to see those lasses win in the Trivial Persuit [sic!] bikes earlier too, seem like genuine girls.
Perhaps the Olpympics can have a positive, feel-good impact we need in this country right now. Got quite emotional and everything. Feeling very, very proud to be British tonight!

I'm kinda the same. I was excited that we were hosting them, and remember cheering when we won the bid. But I didn't think I'd care about the actual events themselves. My, how wrong I was. I watched last night's events in the pub. I cheered for Jess and Mo, but it didn't really feel special. This morning however, I've been watching videos of last night's action and I've welled up more than once. a truly amazing day for Team GB.

Get in Andy. Gold in Men's Tennis. Destroyed Federer. Hopefully can convert it to Grand Slam form.
