I disagree about him being lazy, he seems to put a shift in!
I'd rather Tiote as that type of midfielder anyway, and Martinez too. Not sure on Martinez price but after the spanking they gave us his price I imagine has sky rocketed, and he was pretty sought after anyway, I think he's a Barca player though, I can see him going there this summer and playing Center back.

Modric seems to be popular, how much would everyone pay for him? 25 mil tops. wouldn't go a penny higher even on football manager bale i'd pay 40 for.

If we sold Nani which could become likely seeing as MJ is stalling talks, then Id make Bale our number one target simple as. Hes got the ability and Id rather spend 40m on Bale than 40m on Modric.
Schwienstiger all the way.

Bale over Modric? Are people forgetting the fact our midfield is average and our wingers are the strongest part of the squad?

Thats the only way id take Bale first if we needed another winger. However there are players id prefer over Modric so I wouldn't choose him anyway.

Yeah Bale does have ability. ONE ability. Wouldn't go higher than 23-25 million for him. Same goes for Modric. I'd much rather we keep Nani. Any day better than Bale.

Bale over Modric? Are people forgetting the fact our midfield is average and our wingers are the strongest part of the squad? it's not about signing a winger it's about signing a player who looks every bit a United player. if he became available we would have to be in there for him. and no that doesn't mean we ignore central midfield

Say Redknapp strops over his contract, and Bale has already made noises about wanting to play in the European Cup anyway. Move Nani into full-time competition with Tony V out right and Have Young and Bale competing for the left-side of and attacking midfield 3. Valencia -- Kagawa -- Bale Rooney
| or |
Young -- Kagawa -- Bale Rooney
| or |
Nani -- Kagawa -- Bale Rooney Clubs would shit themselves if we could pull that sort of a deal off. I'm beginning to think Bale would be worth the selection hassles for winger spots simply to see the bricking it reactions of everybody else.

yeah i'd love him here. not only does he have great ability but he's got great character. when spurs were getting battered by inter it was bale who was standing up to em, forget the goals, he left his spot on the left to help out all over the pitch, doubling up, providing an outlet for team mates under pressure, he showed aggression and seemed to grow with the responsibility. at a stage like United can provide i reckon he'd be on fire

Bestie, i know that we are thinking wishfully here. and i get really pissed when i c the other posters popping the occasional wishful bubble. but the only way i c us pulling that one off is if Citeh fill their wide spot b4 we move for him. if they r looking for a wide player while we r, were bound to be out priced b4 we even start.
that said....... WHAT A FUCKING TEAM that would be! we would def b the envy of europe with those 4 wingers. OMG!!!!!!
